Don't know if you realise, hiunikel, but the high-speed high-illumination flickering on your avatar is seriously unpleasant. :(

It depends on the person in question.

Generally speaking:

Some aspies do not feel comfortable in social gatherings, have social anxiety, can't stand the presence of some/many people. A job without too many social interactions each day may a good try in that case.

Some can survive social interaction just fine, but don't like it and feel really uncomfortable. They probably wouldn't be very happy in an office with 10+ people or as a vendor.

Some just cannot work in a field that does nor pertain their interest. In that case a good idea would be to look for a job that involved said special interest. If a person loves animal -> animal caretaker.

Some would love to get a job that involved lots of people, that is fast-paced in relation to social interactions but have trouble to fit into such a branch due to their ASD. That one is complicated... I'm like that. I'm not sure yet if it works out!

Some probably have no issues that they cannot overcome/learned to overcome.

So... that's not all I think. There's more! But your question is open to interpretation.

Was it because of the work itself?
Because of the people?
Are you unsure what the reason is that you didn't feel comfortable?
Do you have a job you'd love to do but currently can't/don't apply for?
Or is there a field of interest maybe, a curiosity about a certain job?

Think about all the questions! Try finding out what made you feel uncomfortable.

Maybe make a list with what jobs you tried and didn't get along with. If, say, you worked as a driver at one time and didn't like it - forget looking at another driver's job.

You can look on the Internet or at a local job centre for lists of hundreds of jobs that exist and that you haven't thought of yet too!

Suitable jobs for people with AS :

(a) Mad scientist. Get involved in your work for it's own sake. The Institute will laugh at you for your ideas, but you will show them.
(b) Hermit misanthrope. You can live in cave and devote yourself to solitude. People may be curious about your lifestyle, though. Throw rocks at them.
(c) King of Bavaria. You will be able to spend all your money on things like overlong, melodramatic operas and the building of fanciful and impractical castles. Be warned, you family may take exception to this, leading to you being found dead floating in a lake.

I work as a medical clerk in a pathology lab, and a lot of the doctors who've worked there (none of whom were actually AS, to my knowledge, although one or two showed some traits) will happily admit that they chose that field because they can exercise their skill and interest in medicine and the human body, but not have to deal directly with patients. (Well, OK, not whole ones....or live ones.... )

I can understand that. And I can imagine many other types of scientific research would let you spend most of your working hours in happy solitude.

go for things you like...
like working with food but not ppl? Cook in a small restaurant
like working with animals but less people? Kennel director in an animal hospital
like cleaning but hate ppl? After school janitor
like building things but hate opinionatedness? private architect

think like that and you'll find something

i did well in natural sciences ..and i like it

(b) i love to be alone ..and i wish to live in a forest with the nice creatures

I'm a software engineer and I love it! I think there a lot of other mild or outright aspies in this job too. You don't have to interact with people except a few times a week if you don't want, you get to concentrate on your coding, the job is very logical and everything you do is at your pace, and you're alone in your cubicle or office. And you get to see the results of your work immediately and can focus on it to make it perfect, if that's your thing.

I worked as an accountant before grad school. It's really easy, pay wells, and doesn't require much interaction with people.
