i thought of this because i heard my mother helping my 6 year old brother with homework, i think he is an Aspie, and my mum is yelling at him when he does somthing wrong. shes usualy very good but i can see that there is better ways to do this, it also made me think of when my dad used to help me with homework, he would yell at me because i could not say the word 'the' properly, my dad still thinks the only thing i need is to be pushed into fixing my problems.who can relate with parent problems.

I don't think it's just parents, but many NTs who have a close relationship with someone with AS hold that attitude. They have no comprehension of what AS really is. NTs tend to believe that you just choose to have a certain personality, and you can choose to have a different personality if you really wanted to. And that you could talk more if you just tried harder. Etc.

Absolutely. This is a problem I've had with everyone except for my parents, who believe that AS is a debilitating social disease and want me to find every way possible to deal with it.
