I like to see snakes at the zoo when they're in the glass, but I'd never hold one. They feel so weird.

My uncle had pet snakes. I always liked how different they are to most other creatures.

I feel the same about spiders and such. I like them... as long as there is a glass wall between us.

I hate ... HATE ... the texture of snakes. I hate snakes in general, but I really hate touching them.

I would never hold a poisonous snake, but they don't set off my "fight or flight" mechanism, I've stood quite close to one on more than one occasion.

I'm fine with pet snakes, but understandably, I'm a bit more cautious around wild ones.

I hate them. I don't like the way they feel, I don't like the fact that they could eat a baby in one bite, and I don't like the fact that there are some that are longer than me and are poisonous and the anti-venom is hard to come by.... 8O

I Don't like snakes.

I had a relative once, who had a snake, he said if I didn't touch it, he would put me on the ground and place the snake on me. I hate that man.

And used to people. I'd hate to lose or hurt one.

I haven't got a problem with snakes, but they do smell weird.

To the OP--if you know what a snake feels like, you're not phobic :D

I, for some reason, know a lot about them. I have no idea WHY I know a lot about them because I don't even like them (they're not one of my special interests and yet I know some really obscure stuff... must be all the time I spend watching the discovery channel). I'm not afraid of them and I don't hate their texture, but I do have to agree that they smell TERRIBLE.

You ever see the movie "Tremors" about those snake-like monsters? Yeah. When the characters were talking about how bad the monsters smelled, I believed them. :?

I don't mind if I see one in the zoo, but never in the wild.

CMaximus, I know this is picky, but if somebody with a really bad phobia of snakes unexpectedly sees the picture you posted, they might feel very unpleasant for a while... I have experience with phobias and it's not fun... Could you maybe link it instead?

I am careful with snakes, but I have been known to pick up small wild snakes.

Before I touch a snake I need to know that it is a snake which is not a toxic threat to me.

I have touched snakes which might be able to poison a cat or small dog but not a adult man.

I like snakes. I'm not afraid of snakes in the wild and once I had a (pet) snake on my head. I would think about getting my own pet snake but I can't stand the idea of feeding live animals to it. If only there were vegetarian snakes...
