Dissapointed with Support Group here.

Oh, I finally got up the nerve to get nformation about the support group here, and not only was the office very difficult to find (even after asking several people), but it was closed.

The office hours state on the reulary updated sute that the office closes today at 2:30.

It was well before 2:30.

It kinda annoyed me, because if they say they are going to be open, they should be open. What if someone had turned up with a really bad problem.

I don't really know if I want to bother going back. I might ring them up next week and tell them what I think.

That group sounds worthless. I wouldn't go back either. Especially because it would take so much self-motivational effort for me just to show up.

I'll say.

It's taken me weeks to finally go there. I feel like my effort was wasted instead of rewarded.

That's terrible, hale_bopp. If they are not reliable enough to be open when they say they are going to be open, how can they be reliable enough to offer support to those who need it? You have my sympathies.

I find that there is little to no support for aspies in New Zealand. I think the reason that the support group that you call being shut would be because all the people involved with support groups for aspies are volinteers and doing it because they want to help people.

I went to a surport group for aspies and was surprised by how old they all were. And how werid they all seemed. It was a bit of a shock to the system.

One of my goals/wishes is to try and set up better surport for aspergers in Auckland. I would like there to be some sort of group for 17 to 27 aspies. Honestly I have no clue how I would set some thing like that up.

I would much reither find a parental support group so I could find aspies to help out but still yet to do that.

I have no idea about what sort of people go to the support group here. I don't think it's a vollenteer thing..

I don't know if the people will be high functioning or low functioning either.
