I always like to clean when I am stressed. Cleaning is a bit of a mindless task for me. My hands and body can move methodically like a robot while I think of other things. Plus, I have the results.

Lab Pet is a neatnick too! Instant gratification and satisfies my nervous energy. I need organization or I become stressed. My apt. is perfect, organized, and nicely decorated. I LOVE my apt. And my lab too - Lab Pet's choice.

Recreational vacuuming?

You're not alone. Many Auties/Aspies are neat-freaks too.

I'm no neat freak, but I do like to do purges every once in a while, to make room for new junk. It helps me feel less powerless, and I only regret throwing things out some of the time.

Every once in a long while I'll start rearranging everything in my apartment. I'll be happy with it for years, and then suddenly everything needs to be moved.

When something traumatic or stressful happens, I will have an urge to rearrange and clean... most often where it occurred, if in the house. The sensory reminders are too much if I leave it the same as it was.
