Does an NT life seem boring to you?

What do you mean by an NT life? My life would probably be very similar if I were NT. So no, not really.

Curious question. To my thinking, an NT modality would be distracting and irksome comparatively, but I am also pretty well acquainted with my head. There are trade-offs, but I'm comfortable with them for the most part.

I don't think you can generalize about what "an NT life" is like, any more than you can generalize about what "an Aspie life" is like. I'm not a boring person, so I don't think I'd be boring as an NT. :)

Well, they consider MY life very banal. As for ME? I ENVY the apparent ease that some have in enjoying life, and being social. But I really see no purpose, etc... in it and am thus locked out of such things.

The few times when some spontaneity and frivolity engendered some joy, some part of my mind kicked in and killed it. When a 30yo acts like a 20 something that, in turn, acts like an adolescent, it just seems off, EVEN when 2 dozen others act the same way, and some are the same age.

That is a shame, because part of that 5 year old is still in me. We still enjoy the same things(hey, he never really was that childish). We still have the same goals, even though I have given up on some. I didn't even feel the same when I became to large to be able to be almost anywhere. I STILL remember having a nice rest on the back seat of a VW! TODAY, I can't even do that in a stretch limo. 8-(

And HE was OPTIMISTIC! Can you believe that!?!?!? OPTIMISTIC! Today, I am CYNICAL, and PESSIMISTIC!

Wierd question. I wouldn't think any life "boring" or lifestyle, whatever. Just doesn't work, how can life be boring?

I don't like how aspies see NT's as like sub humans
my family, my dearest friends-all "NT"
we try and say we are all kind and loving-yet we segregate people
we don't like being called different yet we call them different

Kilroy-
Good point. This is starting to irritate me as well...
However hypocritical this is, being that we're looked down on, this is natural. It's the minorities and outcasts that are the "tightest" and "fiercest" in defending themselves. A form of defense, in my opinion. Having many outstanding examples of the NT finest in the form of family members and friends gives you a different perspective than those who've struggled much. It's all in our points of view. Lil more respect on both ends would be helpful tho.

no every time I see aspies slandering NT's, its no excuse
most of the NT's that hurt them probably had no idea what AS is
they were just fallowing the crowd
my parents, my best friend-NT's
there is no excuse to pick out a whole bunch of people just because of a few bad apples
that's called fascism

all the NT's who have made fun of me had no idea I had AS-I was just weird to them
they don't know
I don't throw the fact I have AS as an excuse to slander people
you do that your no better then them

Not at all matter of fact it seems the exact opposite. NT people seem to actually have a life while mine is boring. If someone was to ask me what do I do for fun. I would have nothing to say except that im a couch potato. NT's lives are seems refreshing like a breath of fresh air and opportunities. They don't have problems with doing activities outside with other people because they have friends.

While I can understand your respective frustrations - where in this thread has superiority been implied? In my mind, I do not find relative interest and inequality interchangeable variables. To me, at this stage in my life, it would be bewildering... and in some ways, boring because I do not know if my sense of interpretation and focus would be affected. Would you mind showing me where you are deriving this from in this thread? Not trying to be an arse, but I am somewhat confused by where you are coming from here.

I think you're replying to me, but it would help in the future if you used the "quote" function so I can be sure.

What I meant was the following, in plain, bold, direct Aspie-speak, from one aspie to another: You write like a geek. I imagine you probably talk like you write, so you undoubtedly sound like a geek, too.

I did not mean to imply that you came off with an air of superiority, and in fact am confused as to how you took that from my post. I simply meant you sound like a geek, and we aspies are often (read: almost always) geeks.

You'll notice my writing style doesn't sound geek-ish. That's a skill I learned when I was about 12 -- how to speak and write like an NT. I got picked on less when I "dumbed down" my speech. Of course, I'm NOT implying you should dumb down; I was simply making an observation.

Actually, my reply was in the direction of Kilroy and -JR. I hadn't even read your post until just now... *shrug* As for anything showing, it doesn't bother me. Here, I write comfortably - not according to specifications. As for being a geek... at times, I'm sure. In all forms - computer, literature, music/musician. But I'm happy there, by and large, so what is the problem you see? I think more than anything, this is just a matter of mistaken communication; if you look at it through the lens of their issues, it will make more sense.
