I have been watching/renting Ghost Whisperer from Netflix...and it got me thinking about Sixth Sense...then it got me thinking more....and...

What if in Sixth Sense (the boy, Cole) or Ghost Whisperer (the woman, Melinda) were autistic or aspie?

Feel free to input other scenarios from other movies and tv shows.

I haven't seen either of those movies, but Harry from *Batteries Not Included seems to have autism or something similar...he only speaks in television quotes.

Rain Man (Dustin Hoffman) was mine.

not to be too technical but rain man ( hoffmans character) was low functioning autistic and not really AS.
what is of interest thou is that his brother ( tom cruise) displayed many As characteristics in the movie that eclipsed hoffmans portrayal.

Which ones? Tom Cruise's character was about as NT as you can get.

ok. no argument from me.
i just respectfully disagree.
i watched rain main with my GF who was trying to "learn" about AS and we were both watching hoffmans character when she pointed out that cruises character was more AS than hoffman, i would have to say that i did agree with her.
of note was the opening scene in the movie.....a high perfomance car being transported off a ship, suspended by high tension cables...the car was capable of so much, could outperform all other cars...but only on a road, and suspended in the air it was as useless as it was hung up by its environement, a classsic analogy with hoffmans character.

Napoleon, Pedro, Deb and Kip from Napoleon Dynamite.

I firmly stand by that belief.

Meanwhile, Bruce Willis has left the room.

Oh, come on! He'd be interested in something other than trains, surely. Not every Aspie is a train freak; I'm not!
