So I was thinking about the Free State Project- http://www.freestateproject.org/

The gist of it is an effort to consolidate Libertarians into a low-population, libertarian leaning state, where the gathering of like minded people could have a more effective say in how the government that affects their life is run.

So what would you think about a similar Aspergers society? Lets all move to Wyoming. Next to no population, and lots of space so we won't have to touch each other.

This post is borne out of my frustration at my lack of being able to find a like-minded femal to myself within 1500 miles. :(

Not that I think this (or the free state project) would ever be realistic, but I'm interested in what people think about the idea...

Just one question... what do we do with the people already there.

Well, thats kind of why the Free State Project isn't trying to do this in California. The smaller the state, the less transplants needed to make a difference in the way the society functions.

If all aspies moved to one spot it would be the same society that we have now. There would still be cliques and people who feel left out.

Why should the state be in America? Best would be to put it in Australia. How about Western Australia? And, there's really no need to transplant all the people already living here. You can fit every autistic in WA, all the while giving them plenty of space from other people. WA is much larger than Wyoming.

Why not just hijack new hampshire from the libertarian movement. Whoever gets there first wins. Poor peeps already in NH will have political zealots coming at them from one side, and they-don't-know-what coming at them from the other side... seems kinda humorous.

That is probably true, since Aspie people are at different places on the spectrum.

One thing that would be different is overall, we'd have a more aspie friendly culture. More would be based on merit, ability, etc., than on one's social connections. How well one does at their job would matter, as opposed to who other factors. The NT's who con their way through life would really be put in their place.

I once had a penpal in Australia. He was always sending me pictures, brochures, magazines, and newspapers, etc., about his country. I thought Australia might be a cool place to live.

The logistics, the paperwork, etc. of moving to another country won't be as easy as moving across state lines. In order to do this, we'd have to do alot more than the FSP people have had to do.

If we were to do this, in order to do what we want to do, i.e. create a place where we can live our lives amongst our own kind and find our destiny, we'd probably want to at first, try and locate to one general area, such as one small city or town. If a bunch of us are in the same area, we can work to create an Aspie culture in the area, which in time would hopefully spread.

They are not the future, we are.

This would be a bad idea for numerous reasons, one of which is do you really want aspies breeding with aspies, I mean your liable to end up a three headed kid or something. :D

Personally I am looking for that one nt who is not shallow and superficial, surely there has got to be at least one in this overpopulater world of ours!!

Just my opinion. If I had more moderating power, I would move this into the politics, philosophy and religion forum.

I don't like the idea of wyoming also. I don't want an active mega-volcano in my back yard
