I've been on this site for a time. I would like to make a request.
This is for anyone with any ASD (autistic spectrum disorder) or believes that they have/are affected by/[place your favorite semantically correct verb here] an ASD.

I am an undergraduate in Sociocultural Anthropology, nearing my graduation. I'm going to write a thesis within the next year on how autism is seen by American culture. If it's possible, I'd request everyone to answer questions that I will have within a few months. I don't know if anyone's going to remember this by that time, but I do need an ethnographic account to help back up my paper. The internet will be one of my sources, albeit not the sole source for my paper. I will have questions ready at a later date...

I would just like to know if I would get any responses here on WP, and if anyone could help me spread the word. I am writing this thesis as there is such a lack of study in autism in anthropological fields, when autistics are often anthropologists ourselves out among neurotypicals.

Wish me luck, and may luck follow you in this crazy world.

I think you'd get some responses, as long as you're really respectful and everything. I'd certainly respond : ) Will try and spread the word!

*ponders* I'm not too sure about whether or not I would use people with only a formal diagnosis.

 -- At that time, I'll just ask you whether you're formally DX'ed, undx'ed, or not affected at all. Because there are questions that I will ask NTs. (nods)

To the OP : Can you outline the basic gist and reason for the research ?
Thanks.
