Yes! Very common with those with aspergers or autism to think in pictures.

It's common for people on the spectrum to think in pictures. It depends on the person though.

Depends on the person. My brother, Autistic, thinks in images, I think in multi-dimensional forms - or, live-action blueprints, if that makes it sound simpler.

I think half in shapes/forms and half in words, it really depends on the situation. When talking/writing the thinking comes in words, but when drawing it comes in images. Then I also get a combination of the two when I think about a story- I see the character and surroundings and "hear" what they speak at the same time.

I think that thinking in pictures isn't exclusive to autistics. A lot of people think that way.
And yes, I do.

Some of my thinking is in words. The rest is difficult to describe, but it is not in the form of pictures. The best word I can think of to describe the form of the majority of my thinking would be 'essences'. If I am thinking of cats for instance I have a sense of cats that is not predominately visual or linguistic, and which seems to be comprised of my perception of the characteristics of cats (as opposed to be comprised of visual imagery or a word-map).

I think in sound and images... Like a really shiny movie.

(That doesn't make any sense does it?)

I don't think in pictures. I think in words if that is effective for what I'm thinking about. Otherwise I'm sorting through my mental data bank trying to apply previous learning to my problem.

I think I think far more in sounds and words than I do in pictures.
