I'm just wondering if anyone else has this? My head circumference has always been larger in proportion to my body size. It was more noticable in childhood which is seen in photos but is still rather noticable. It seems like I should have been taller in proportion to my head size and if I get too thin it stands out a lot more.

yup. i haven't been able to buy an "off the rack" hat since i was about 12 years old - and i was wearing adult men's size hats then. it runs in the family. i've also been told by a forensic anthropologist that i have an "old style" skull. he said that, basically, in caucasians there are now two basic skull shapes - long and round. long is the archaic version, round is the more modern. the large, long-heads are prevalent in places like scotland, ireland, and parts of viking territory. unfortunately, that's about all i remember of the discussion - it was like 30 years ago!

i think there's been a thread on head sizes on wp in the past. but it's been a while.

No one else in my family shows this disproportionate feature. My head is more rounds as opposed to long and I have that problem also with finding eye-ware.

I noticed an athlete, a runner, I think she won the long distance, with what appeared to me to be a disproportionate head size and it got me to thinking about my own, but which I woud rather not very often think about.

I've read in several places that autism and head/brain size are related. I know I've always had problems with hats being too small :x

Yeah I think I read something about it in New Scientist once.

My head is not visably bigger than average, although it's clear when I'm trying to get hats! Actually, now I think about it glasses are not a problem - they're generally not too tight. Maybe they just make hats really small?

I don't think I've ever noticed, but I think my head is average-sized.

The topic wasn't meant in facetious terms, obviously.

Huh? I was being literal. I have a big head, and so does my aspie son. We both have trouble with hats.

That's ok. Sorry. I did not even realize I sounded like a smart a** until you pointed it out.
