So... Did you post this because of the part where it mentioned people being repulsed at the idea of "humans doing a terrible job of behaving normally"?

It is sometimes regarded as possible that the "uncanny valley" effect evolved as a means of instinctively identifying and ostracizing humans that might prove (specifically in terms of breeding and long-term care) detrimental to the group.

No wonder we are rejected...

Exactly what I thought when I first read that article.

No, I believe we are rejected because we are either unable to be like everyone else, or choose not to be like everyone else. Haven't you ever noticed how similar the "normal people" are in any given group. They know there place.
Very few people work at or above the potential of the people in their group. They find their niche within the hierarchy of said group. Then they comfortably fill it until someone leaves the group or they move to a different group...

I know I don't blend into groups well because I can assume a multitude of roles without any extra effort. I can multitask various positions and usually choose to do so as to break up the boredom. NT's don't like that at all.

i'm a pack omega. i can either feel rotten for being on the outside of the pack, or, I can realize that my perspective gives me an edgeto be even better at playing the roles of beta or alpha, once i make the game conscious.

Yes, while in omega mode NTs experience the uncanny valley when looking at me.
but lets face it, I experience the uncanny valley when looking at them no matter what role they try to play. So
whos more robotic? Them with their narrow little NT universe of social conformity? Or me, with my mirror neurons adapted
for mental simulation instead of mirroring?

What you guys need is :sunny: :bounce: :jester:

Who_Am_I, seems we should accept their rejection as a healthy and positive thing for humanity, then. I thought humans could be more evolved than that. Especially because in terms of breeding, some nasty NTs should reproduce less than most autistics.

They CAN be, but theres a factual bell curve, and most NTs are somewhere to the left of such a measure.

I thought the same until fairly recently. However, I realised that I had done the same thing in the past to NTs for similar reasons: I couldn't read them properly, so I rejected them because they seemed "not quite right" to me. I'm working on getting past that issue; it would be nice if everyone could manage to do so.

Interesting, but I doubt we should compare ourselves with robots and zombies. NT's differ, and we differ one from another, more or less.
