Aspirations is a group for people with Asperger's syndrome in Stretford, a town on the edges of Manchester. Some of you might remember BlackLiger mentioning it. He linked the website address but unfortunately he misspelt it so here's the link in case you missed it or didn't spot the misspelling:

I'm looking forward to meeting you. I don't know when I'll be coming up to Greater Manchester again but when I do I'll challenge you to a game of pool and maybe you can get some debates going that I can join in on at Aspirations, with you being a regular member and more at ease than me. By the way, some of the females there looked nice. :D

Avoid Natasha and Lucie. Tasha is seriously hyper, and her ex is a big bloody dangerous git when hes angry, and Lucie already has a BF.

Were any of you going to Aspirations back when they just moved into Stretford?
I might have unknowingly met any of you,if so. :)
I went in March or April 2004,only attended about 3 or 4 times as I couldn't tolerate being with so many people, never used anything but the computers, live just a few roads away from the house.

We'll probably be moving back to Leigh although it's not ruled out that we might live in Bolton,in particular a posh part like Westhoughton. How about you, where are you in the Greater Manchester area? Next time I'm going to be coming up to the area I'll tell you and BlackLiger so we can meet if you want.
Bolton, Noooooo! Danny lives there, and he will introduce you to Matt, who is a BIG time alcholic. (Danny = Teh Fat Guy)

OK, just point them out to me and I won't so much as make eye contact with them. That'll be easy enough considering I'm an Aspie. :P
< that would be Luke, not me, BTW :P I may be a dangerous git, but I'm not that big. And sure... although TASHA tends to make herself known instantly, as she is that hyper.

Not me but maybe Assassin and BlackLiger were going then. It was my first time last Wednesday. When I went I didn't really know what to do or who to talk to. It was confusing me being not very well adapted socially. It'll be better, though, if I meet BlackLiger and Assasin because I know I can probably talk to them about politics so it won't be too awkward.

Founding member. Member 01. Danny was member 02. :P We are now THE oldest members of Asperations 14-16 :P (even though I am 17 and Danny is 18, we still attend because theres nothing to do for us in the older group)

What are you interested in? Maybe if you're interested in something similar to BlackLiger, Assasin or me, you would like to go because you'd have something to talk about/do with someone that was already prepared so it wouldn't require any spontaneity, which is a big problem for people with Asperger's syndrome generally I think.

Seconded. Although its highly likely there will be SOMEONE who has similar interests to you. Tell me your interests, and I'll tell you who.[/quote]
