Do you have days when you just want to lay in bed for the rest of the day? I sometimes sleep for 12-14 hours for weeks if not months. I really enjoy sleeping as I can remember many of my dreams and love to analyse them.

It seems I can't get by without at least 12 hours sleep. I can only get up in the mornings because I know I have to.

I wake up everyday with alternating feelings of rage and despair, so yes I would prefer to oversleep.

Now that you mention it, I miss that. I only remember my dreams when I can wake up slowly, gently, and alone. Nowadays, that only happens when I take a nap in the middle of the day when no one is there. Sounds like it might even be therapudic. I think I'll try that tomorrow.

I love to sleep...I can easily sleep 14 or 16 hours if I was able. Usually I sleep 12 if I don't have an alarm to wake me up. I wish I was a cat, they sleep whenever they want and as many hours as they want. It must be so great, and a little bit boring.

Yeah, today. However, I had to get out of bed to look for work.

I would like to stay asleep longer, but once Im awake, my mind wont "shut up" long enough for me to take a nap. I wish i could get 10+ hours of sleep (granted, had a med that put me down for 14-16 hours, more out of exhaustion though due to side effects <shudder>). I have learned to kind of "shut down" where my mind is active, but i can keep myself from responding to anything outside of me (not sure if i can classify it as a nap though).

I usually sleep 10 hours a night. I can't function if I get less than 9. But I have a very strict time when I have to get up. 10:30, everyday. If I wake up at 10 and don't feel tired, I'll still sleep an extra half hour just so I get up at my usual time. I think part of it is thinking about all the people I'll have to deal with in my house when I go upstairs.

I am a really heavy sleeper. I have to keep a can of Red Bull by my bed and knock it back immediately when I hear my alarm clock sound, or I usually fall back to sleep. I don't know why I need so much sleep.

Once I'm awake I'm usually unable to get back to sleep, and unless my mind is occupied with some serious thinking I usually can't stay in bed for long either. Even at weekends I find myself looking at the clock frequently, and if it starts nearing 11am I feel too much like I'm wasting my day - even if I don't particularly have anything to do. In general I think I'm much too conscious of what I'm doing with the limited time in the day in order to relax enough for a lie in.

I work second shift now, so I have plenty of opportunities to sleep in. But I hate it! I often don't get fully up and running until 11:00am. But by then, almost half of my free time is gone. I work second shift, so my job runs from 3:00pm to 11:00pm. So more often than not, I don't get home until 11:30pm, and don't get to sleep until 2:00am. So this becomes a dilemma of having to choose between getting full 8 hours of sleep, or having half of my free time just going to waste. As soon as the economy picks up, I'm going to look for a job with normal 9 to 5 schedule. Sure, I don't be able to sleep in anymore, but at least I'll know I'll have at least full six hours of free time every evening after work. If the free time is before work, there's too much temptation to waste it by sleeping in (and then not being able to do anything other than a brief errand).

i naturally get 12 hours of sleep...if my body is left to its natural course. that's going to bed at 5am, getting up at 5pm.
i had a far more normal schedule when i was at my sister's house in america...i think i'm just oversleeping due to depression. my school conflicts masively with my sleeping schedule. as i have to get UP at 6am...when normally i'd be sleeping about then. i get like, 4 hours of sleep on school nights. sometimes i just dont sleep.

I only get up because I have to. Weekdays I get up at 5:45am. I must force myself to be in bed by at least 11pm.

On weekends, I usually go to bed closer to midnight, and must force myself to get up by 1pm the next day.

Left to myself, I would sleep minimum thirteen hours, from maybe four thirty to six thirty in the morning, depending on the season until perhaps eight thirty in the evening. I just love the night. It's much more quiet and peaceful.
