As an autistic person where you born premature? It would be interesting to find out if this could be a contributing factor.

Two weeks early--but I was a twin. My twin didn't survive past five months gestation, but I imagine that had something to do with it. We were identical and I think we might have had twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome because we shared a placenta. It would have been fatal for both of us if my twin hadn't died.

They were worried I would be born a lot more prematurely than that, and Mom actually had a doctor tell her she might want to terminate. She switched doctors, and here I am...

Ohh, no no option! I'm autistic, but was not born premature. At least I think being born after 39 weeks is perfectly normal?

Not premature, the delivery itself was net flawless however. The delivery could have better been at the hospital, but that was (and is) not standard practice in The Netherlands.

I know I was born 2 months premature. I only talked and walked when I was 3years old. I remember growing up being in a daze as a child. I am still an anti social person.

My daughter was born 1 month premature. She is the one who was diagnosed to be autistic. They used a suction cup to get her out.

I was born a few weeks late actually. You probably should have added at least 2 more options:

"No: I was born on time"
"No: I was born late"

The current poll will not give a valid result.

I was born so dark purple and blue I looked black and had to be resuscitated. Mother stated that I was born dead. By the next day, my color was still ashen. I didn't know how to nurse and had all the classical signs of autism from the time I was born. I do think all of these kinds of issues are a factor in many cases of autism.

Nope. Born by scheduled C-section, right on time.
