at about midnight, we got back from an autism benefit show. 6 bands, silent auction, and various shirt/cd sales to benefit one of the guys in the band who's son just turned 9 and has full on autism.
my ears are ringing, and i'm entirely worn out, but we had soooo much fun. i talked for a bit with Vince, who put the show on. we compared notes on the whole autie/aspie thing. the singer for my friend's band decided we should maybe do an aspie benefit show. heh.
it's a shame how many people were mad about the $10 cover charge. i, personally, thought it was cheap for the entertainment. money flowed freely last night. would have probably flowed a bit more freely had i been designated drinker, but it wasnt my turn.
looks like about $1000 was raised. i'm kinda proud that the weird, ozarky, metal and rockabilly community puts such efforts forth.
...now if only i could hear. everytime someone says something, the hubby and i are yelling "WHAT!?!?"
