I think i am not good looking as others,I also feel I am not as smart as others because i am totally clueless in a conversation and end up saying most stupid things. All this makes me very conscious of myself and i make more mistakes so i am caught in a vicious cycle.I wonder if i had been better looking then i would have been more involved with life and i would have been more of an extrovert.my conclusion is genes is not the only cause for being an aspie.your looks, intelligence and circumstances also plays an big part in you becoming an aspie.

It could cause social anxiety, but not Asperger syndrome. There a difference between social anxiety and being autistic.

Low self esteem can certainly cause social isolation. However, AS is a neurological difference that has nothing at all to do with looks, social class, or any other circumstances.

Nope. What has happened with you is the other way around. Your Aspergers has caused the inferiority complex.

Nah, that's impossible. That'd be mind over matter to the enth degree.
What you need is a bigger ego - he'll, I'll lend you some of mine, I've got plenty!

Absolutely not.

Being an Aspie has nothing to do with inferiority. We're just different.

Sometimes I wonder if I just have social anxiety and not AS. How would I know?

I've been meaning to get diagnosed, but I just keep putting it off. Plus if anyone found out, I would treat me differently.

Yeah, AS shows up by age two. Most of the time it's there before birth. The genetics certainly are.

You've got your cause and effect mixed up--AS can cause an inferiority complex. Not directly, but AS does make you a very good target for harassment and assault, and those things, unless you're very resilient, will make you feel inferior.

That there looks to me like your way of seeing your aspie traits. Or some of them, that is. And, if I follow right, you see those as things that cause you to feel inferior, not that result from it.

No.

Aspergers is something your born with, But i guess a inferiority complex could eventually lead to a misdiagnosis.

It cant cause Aspergers, it stems from social anxiety. From experiance, having both can make things harder socially vs just having 1 but not the other. Aspergers is a nuerological difference, I do think having aspergers makes a person much more prone to various mood disorders.

I think inferiority complexes, anxiety and panic can exacerbate existing problems associated with AS.
