Ok this sounds weird but i love hands lol, when i see people i dont care for the person very much lol just their hands, i love making their hands clap, i literally will grab your hands randomly and have you clap, or ill shake your hand really hard, or grab your hand and have to hold mine and watch it close on top of mine then get really excited after all of it and usually flap and do a spin then do it again and again lol. Or I'll wave at you really fast hoping you wave back then get sooo excited where i flap really fast and screech haha. I swear the littlest things make me soo happy lol. I even love to watch my hands open and close for hours, idk why, and will watch me flap my hands which i usually get a big laugh from it. Does anybody else have an obsession with hands?



P.S. I just realized I usually ask the weirdest questions and a lot of the time seem to have the wierdest autistic traits lol.

I do notice hands, although not as much as you do, I think.

I do, maybe not obsessed but I'm surely fascinated by them.

I can't put my finger on it but I belief we autists have a special relation with hands, especially in comparison with not autists. They won't notice and take it for granted. Probably most.

I even think when we flap, rub, tap or something else> it has a purpose. Okay, it's not very scientific but hey who cares. It's like getting back to yourself. The Autos. When I rub the inside of my hands together they go warm and I feel a little bit better.

Or fold them.

Yeah, I think, there is a strong correlation between the brain and our hands. Maybe it's a oxytocine thing. Rubbing or touching yourself (and I don't mean masturbation, you dirty minds) releases certain hormones in the tiniest amounts; like oxytocine, endorfine and others and they can make you feel a little bit better.

P.s. parents/ mothers if your kid can handle it; a massage (of the back) is good for your autistic child. You can have my pants if I'm wrong.

wow your thread was very different from where I thought it was going. yes I have an obsession with hands but not in the same way.

When I used to get stoned alot sometimes I would trip out on my hands and appreciate the fingers attatched to them and all the useful things my hands could do. We humans take alot of things for granted. When im talking to people the only time I notice hands is when i'm talking to women and thats because i'm attracted to women with petite hands(dont ask me why).

Thanks once again for everybody for replying! I swear sometimes i think my autism is sooooo weird compared to a lot of adults because i have more traits of autism in childhood rather then adulthood...awkward lool. Mindovermatter, i'm somehow attracted to guys with big hands like ur attracted to girls with petite hands hehe, i looooooooooove big hands, this restaurant i go to the manager has huggge hands, i always grab his arm as hes walking by and randomly shake his hand and say "big hands" lol. He always gives me the weirdest look haha. As always Erminea, love to hear what you say, i also think its a good idea parents give their autistic backrubs hehe, and also believe touching oneself(non sexual like lol) is important for humans. Weebo, i hate when ppl touch me too, especially randomly, i would hate to be on the other side hahaha, but me grabbing their hands doesnt affect me haha idk y. I love hands. My best friend, also an Aspie, is absolutely obsessed with them. She grabs the hands of strangers and touches them, and likes to put them on her head. When we are together she always is holding my hand on top of her head. (She's MissDuckbutt here if any of you've seen her posts )

yes, i think this is one of the things that AS causes, strange obessions or facination with certain things. i was facinated by peoples certain features and still am.

i love to stare at my hands above my head when i wake up in the morning. I like to move my fingers in strange ways and make my hand look like a foreign object. hands are cool!

I sort of have a weird fascination with hands. I love to take pix of my husband's hands when he's playing his guitar and some of our best photos at concerts are ones that I've taken as close ups of hands playing guitars and drums, etc. I love the way that hands look when they are making music. Prolly because I can't make music.
