Can I have a drumroll? Will somebody please give me a drumroll?
Starting in four-five weeks time, I will begin an attempt to clone a mouse using a theoretical process of cellular replication within artificial membrane. If succesful, it will bring me one step closer to resurrecting the Tasmanian tiger and homo neanderthalis.
This process, slightly modified, could also allow accurate replication of organs, dramatically reducing transplant restrictions - and they said an independent scientist aspie could never accomplish anything, *cough*Einstein*cough*.

Take THAT, U.S. Government's current anti-cloning stance!!

...provided I don't bugger up...

Of course. Cellular grafting, tissue manipulation and cellular folding techniques have been around for a little while. It's the process that is unique.

Edit: Ah, wait - just saw the picture. For some reason it didn't display before...

im am sure the tazzy tiger exists...i am sure that a statistical analysis on all tazzy tiger sitings has been done and a significant proportion of these sightings occured within 200 meters of a pub within 15 minutes of closing time.

i clone mice... have no clue what you're talking about.

edit: i guess you're not really being specific.

Its bad form to release complete information! Nobody does that! It's set the patent-grant scramble awry ;)
But, jokingly - perhaps not so much though - it is said that we keep most specifics to ourselves early on to avoid embarrasment if we are wrong :D

Very neat, Ishmael- especially for cloning organs. If successful, you could save a lot of lives.

If succesful - that's the trick, though, isn't it? As with any practical test of what has so far been theory, there is plenty of room for error.

Wonder if it wouldn't make more sense to start with mouse embryos instead of mature mice.... or is that what you're already doing?

Using embryos and genetic materils in place of sperm wouldn't give the results I need.
Though, in another project, I will be using a fertilized mouse embryo to test an artificial womb.
