Like many aspies, I'm very sensitive to the texture of various fabrics. I wouldn't wear denim jeans until just before I started high school. One other weird thing I do is associate color with texture for some reason. The thought of putting on a black (or any dark colored) shirt after I get out of the shower and my skin is still damp makes my skin crawl. For some reason, my perception is that a black shirt will be coarser and more stiff than a light colored shirt even if it's made of the exact same material. And even though I wear blue jeans with no problem, I still think twice before putting on my black jeans.

The only issue I have with colour is that I like lots of it, the brighter the merrier. But at the same time, I'd like to be invisible when I go out. So when I see a bright sparkly shirt, I have to remember to buy the dull gray one.

Pink, purple, yellow and red all give me heart attacks. I have got a problem with texture too. I have not identified any patterns though. So I have no idea what texture gives me problems.

Color doesn't matter to me as much as the way stuff fits. I am very picky about that.
I like jeans. I detest panty hose.
I wear a lot of danskin.
I won't dress frumpy but I am not high fashion either. Jewelry, hats, wigs, all annoy.

Color doesn't really matter to me - at least, I don't "feel" color.

I would not wear something I found aesthetically unattractive, but that is an entirely different story.

I have problems with texture (I used to be able to wear jeans, but now I'm too sensitive to the material, so I can't wear them.), and problems with some colors and shades of colors; but the two problems aren't connected for me.

I can't stand bright colors unless they are balanced out by something dark. Even then, they sometimes add/add up to sensory overload.

For those of you stating various colors you don't like / won't wear, is it simply because you don't like the look of that color or is it some other issue? Personally, I have some dark colored shirts that I really like the look of, I just have a hard time getting myself to wear them because of my conception that a dark shirt will be uncomfortable even though it's exactly the same as a light(er) colored shirt

Well, like I said, it can add/add up to meltdowns in me.

Some colors/shades I can't stand:
Most shades of pink, most shades of yellow, anything in a neon shade

I always wear a colour to match how I feel or want to feel. If I am confident, or want to be confident, I wear red. Rebellious = orange, wise = purple, calm = blue, focused = turquoise, determined = black. And they are the only colours I wear. I rarely wear patterns - most of my clothes are a plain colour. ALL of my clothes are soft, smooth, and loose. I can't stand wearing anything textured, rough or tight. And I ALWAYS cut off every single label, otherwise the irritation drives me crazy!

In practical terms I don't bother about colour. Mostly I just want getting dressed to be as quick and easy as possible, and the comfort of clothes outweighs any appearance factor.

But in principle, I love colour. Browns and greens especially because they go with my eyes. I also like to dress completely in black 8) . I don't like fluorescent colours much - that always looks cheap and tasteless if it's clothes, though I'm happy enough looking at those colours if it's just toys or something.

I find grey suits and uniforms extremely boring.

Colours matter a lot to me, but not because of associating them with anything like texture etc.

I like bright stuff like green, red, orange, pink and so best. It's almost exclusively fashion-matter for me.

I don't wear some colours because they look icky on me, especially pastel pinks or any type of sand/champagne/flesh tone. They make my skin look washed out.
I'll wear darker colours depending on the material and temperature outside. Usually, I save darker colours for outings in the evening when its cooler.
I have some notion in my head that wearing dark colours on a hot day out in the sun will mean I'm hotter and stickier, whereas wearing light colours such as white will act as a heat reflector and keep me cool. :P
And I hate constrictive/non stretch materals, so I avoid those, unless its something breathable like georgette or thin cotton.
My work wardrobe consists of mainly teal, fuschia, reds and purply pinks.
