Some will appreciate this article in The Onion: "People of Earth, I Lack Basic Social Skills"

Priceless.

This one is funny, but it crosses the line to offensive:

He sounds a lot like my Mother (except the part about living in a basement under elderly parents). Faulty Towers and Detective fiction, spot on!

that's just offensive...I remember seeing other version of the article circa 2006 and it was on average just as jackassed. As is the Flardox article on ED. The unencylopedia article is more friendly....

from OP article
Quote:
My method of hovering around two people already engaged in private discussion without uttering a single word may leave some of you very annoyed.

I think I did that from a distance....maybe not...

damn straight :afro:

I though the Onion thing was vaguely funny. But I thought the Encyclopedia Dramatica was just brainless shite

Funniest thing I saw was a reply on this forum to somebody wanting tips on how to talk to a girl - something like "just start twitching and mumble to her about string theory for half an hour." :lmao:

Lol, I had to laugh at the Encyclopaedia Dramatica one... it was quite amusing. I'm glad I can categorically say I couldn't say I do any of the things in that giant list!!

The main problem is that I have no desire to be like the people of Earth.
I once wished that being friendly with them were easier.
As it turns out, most of them are more repulsive as friends than they are
as strangers or enemies. At least strangers try to pretend to be civilized.
When they become friends, they start telling you their sick secrets and,
most insulting of all, it turns out that they expect you to be just like them.
I rarely get through a conversation without wanting to scream, "I'm not like you!"

The Onion article was pretty funny. Parts of the Encyclopedia Dramatica article were hilarious, but a lot of it was just stupid. The funniest part of either one by far is that kid's video. I've watched a bunch of his other videos on Youtube and they're hysterical.
