My younger sister 8 did this with a plastic bat to the other sister (6) and it busted her lip open!! Sadly Mom rushed to the hospital and thankfully she just needed glue and not stitches and besides no baseball games for a week it looks like it should heal which is good. Sadly dad was telling the 8 year old Katelyn why the F did you do that etc. Yelling at the top of his lungs at her :-( After all that I heard her saying to herself I'm stupid I'm stupid. :-( When I was in the room Dad yanked me to get out so I slammed the front door and walked to the school and back (1mile) to cool down. Last night my parents were yelling. :-( I hope Katelyn (the 8 year old) has learned her lesson not to pretend like that and thankfully they had just started playing with the plastic bat they were using the metal one!! ! So a huge disaster was diverted. Her shirt was drenched in blood, wash rags, there are even specks of blood on the back door. :-( Hopefully it heals good and she doesn't have a scar (she sadly asked mom am I going to have this forever) :-( So this goes back to my topic question has any of you "pretended" to hit a sibling or anyone and have it connect? :-( (It was a rough day yesterday!! !) :-)

I have a problem with my boys pretending to kick each other and then "oops". no trips to ER yet, thankfully. I just make them sit on the couch for a little while to calm down. Yelling isn't really called for, it was an accident (not the best judgment call on her part, but an accident none the less.) Tell her she isn't stupid, that it wasn't a great idea.. but not stupid, and that everyone does something like that every once in a while.

[edit]I was an only, so nope, never happened to me:D [/edit]

I agree it wasn't a good judgment call while dad was yelling at her Katelyn said he was calling her stupid for what she did. I later over heard her saying I'm stupid. :-( It's interesting you have issues with your boys. :-) (Like you said thankfully no ER trips yet.) :-)

Pfft, I can go one better than that. At school, me and another guy pretended (purely in fun) to headbutt one another. And both got a bit of a sore one. No bad blood about it afterwards though, it was just a friendly joke that got a bit f****d up, these things happen.

No but I have been on the other side of this situation. It didn't hurt so much since they weren't really trying.

Humm when i was younger staying at a friends we were having a cup of tea before bed and before puring the tea he decided to pretend to pour the hot tea from the tea pot on my leg. He went a bit far and when pulling back a good cup or so came out and hit the inside of my bare thigh (right next to my crown jewels). It hurt like a MFer but i think he learned his lesson.

Me and my sisters would always fight, she was more violent then me, she has stabbed me with a fork, and she threw a plant at my head and knocked me out. The worst thing I ever did to her was bonking her on the head with my guitar, el kabong

I've hurt people while 'pretending' lots of times (I am very uncoordinated). However, the incident that most stands out to me is where someone hurt me while pretending.

My then boyfriend jokingly told me if I shook my finger at him again he'd chop it off with the bread knife he was using. So I shook my finger at him again, he proceeded to 'pretend' to chop my finger off and sliced into my wrist instead. I had to go to the hospital for stitches and still have the scar. Meanwhile 'didnt your mother tell you not to play with knives?' became a routine 'in-joke' in our household.

 yep. location:outside. my sis was becoming paranoid about this hula hoop that would had a blinking light in it. the blinking light was messed up and would blink randomly. my sister thought it was only blinking when she turned around and was becoming paranoid that it was playing tricks on her mind. she picked it up to throw it against the wall but i quickly intervened and told her that that was hula hoop abuse. she said "it's just a stupid hula hoop!" i yelled "it's not stupid! you don't understand it!" she yelled "no, it's-" me: "SHUTUP!" i went to fake slap but actually slapped her as hard as i could. "what the hell?!" "oops..."

we probably woke a few of our neighbors as this occured at 10 pm.

LOL! Reminds of an incident my Sister and then Boyfriend (now Husband) did. They were at an Outback Steakhouse (it's a restaurant that serves steaks among other things) the butter fell to the floor and both went to grab it my sister had the knife in her hand and it slicided his finger open. They grabbed napkins etc. and rushed to the hospital (and the restaurant still wanted them to pay there bill what jerks!! !) They later didn't make them and I think he still has a scar aswell. But that's an incident they remember doing and we are SUPER CAREFUL with there knifes there. LOL!

Yeah, I've learned the hard way (though not as hard as those who've been at the wrong end of it  ) not even to play-fight because I have trouble controlling speed and direction to the extent necessary to avoid hurting someone, also because getting my body into a motor routine that involves quasi-violent acts isn't good given that many of my motor skills depend on autopilot routines of things I've practiced before.

on another note...my sister once went to pretend attack me and i moved out of the way, resulting in her ramming in her hand into a glass window. she lost quite a lot of blood.

and then there was that time when one of the neighborhood kids was being all uppity so my two friends and me wanted to scare him off. i went to fake push/hit him but actually knocked him to ground and he hit his smack dab on the ground. i don't remember if he started bleeding or not but i was in pretty big trouble since he has*looks up**looks up even more**thinks she finds the definition but that's not it**looks up more* hemophilia. the worst part is that this kid was a whiner and had a temper.

i remember once when i was around 7 or so, my sister and i were rough-housing, and i was pretending that i was going to bite her thumb, but she stuck it in my mouth, and i actually bit it!! i don't think she bled, though.... but my dad had this rule about biting... that if we bit someone, he'd bite us back... so, even though it was an accident, and more her fault for shoving her thumb in my mouth to begin with, my dad bit me in that sensitive place between the thumb and index finger... it was not pleasant at all. :(

there have been several times where my sister has been violent towards me (like when she shoved my head into a metal wall when i was 6, or kicked me in the face with her heal and almost broke my nose when i was 9, or threw a plate at my head and almost knocked me out when i was 14), but i don't think those were accidents.... :( (my sister's NT, btw)
