Seeing as how I want one for a pet... no. They facinate me. I am weary of ones like the black widow and scuh... but fear them? No.

Lots of spiders live in my basement. I'm not scared of them. I stay out of their business, they stay out of mine. If they get on my things, that's asking for a stomp to the head. Otherwise, I let them carry on and do whatever. One of them watched the Penn State game with me once. I didn't care.

If one were on me or was with me while in the shower I would not appreciate it very much. If they are at a distance and I know where they are then I am fine.

I am afraid of spiders but, only if they are on me, or very close.

I have a fascination with spiders, even those that are toxic. However, if there is a poisonous spider around my place, I kill it. If it's just a bug eater, I leave it alone. I have a huge green lynx spider who hangs out in my garden (she mostly dines on honey bees). She's welcome to stay as long as she wants.

Yes! Hugely so! Doesn't matter if they are dust mite sized. They will still throw me into a panic.

I was acutely aware as a child that certain species of spider could kill me if I was bitten by them. I hated them then. Now that I'm a fully grown adult, the worst a brown recluse or black widow could do to me is maim me. I despise them even more.

Snakes are much more of a bother, but easier to kill. We have cottonmouths around here. They can be highly territorial and aggressive. I've seen one try to attack a canoe in the river before. After the flooding went down from Gustav/Ike, I ended up having to beat three of the things to death on separate occasions. Very, very nasty creature.

Do kind of have a fear of spiders, though they are one of my interests. What scares me is that they can get into anything, venom, there faces that are very different from humans and the way there legs move.

I have fear of spiders. As a kid a friend had a 'bird eating spider' (bird tenon?, don't know the right translation) and I was not afraid of it at all. It was cute and had a cuddly factor. I got over the fear quite a bit when I was living on the country side in a farm. No escaping from spiders there. Big hairy ones eeks me the most.
What I do is get a glass and a carton/card and put them outside. Most likely they come back in the house again, but at least my mind is at ease for a bit.
Spiders fascinate me too! And their webs are so beautiful in the autumn.
I lukily live in a country where there are no dangerous spiders.

If they are far away I'm fine. In my house? Not so much. Especially if someone says out of the blue, theres a spider! I FREAK OUT. complete with jumping, squeeling, crying, hysterics. Not a pretty sight.
