Okay, let's try this - again!

I've noticed that, due to my blunt spoken manner, my tendency to be rude to people who I know are wrong, etc, etc. - my personality can come off as quite abrasive. Somewhat different to "real life".
This topic may help me to form a contrast.

Note: Apparently some mods take issue with my acceptance of "hate" towards me; so, to try and prevent this thread being locked, please refrain - much as that may adversely affect the spirit of inquiry - from "hate", excessive insults, flaming, and excessive detail as to why you dislike me. Keep it rational, observed and practical.

Ishmael, I initially thought you might be trolling because your thoughts are often expressed so passionately! And with exclamation points! that you almost seem to be a caricature of yourself. But I've grown accustomed to it and now I like it, and I look forward to your posts.

it would be unfair to lock your thread ....I made a similair thread in the members section under LPP's bad qualities and was never been locked (which is the rival of sandy's thread under the name of LPP's good qualities). if they lock yours then they have to lock all similair threads too...

You are interesting. Your ideas are interesting. I think I like you.
I like your avatar because I like Doctor Who.

Just who is "Doctor Who"?

For the record, I don't "know" you. Frankly, I doubt that it's possible to really get to know anyone through a forum such as this. Without real-life interaction we only get to read certain facets of a person when there are so many more. Therefore, I've remained ambivalent about anyone I've interacted with on the 'net.

While I would not go whaling with you, I will put up with your opinions, but you should rant more.

Life takes passion, digging, demanding, or the great parts are missed.

Question everything, starting with yourself.

The unexamined life is not worth living.

Inventor,

No offense intended but you should credit that quote. :D

Ishmael,

This may not be what you wanted to hear, but I like your posts and don't remember ever being offended by any of them. Try harder, perhaps? :D

Everyone,

I'm having an Aspie crisis: I don't understand anything of what went on here. I feel awful when I'm faced with my mind blindness like this. No wonder I can't hold down a job or any relationships... I'm probably not an Aspie but a social idiot.

what your describing is AS behaviour. what more does anyone expect on an AS forum other than AS behaviour?

abrasive is a good place to be.

i tend to hover between blunt and abrasive.

I appreciate your sense of humour Ishmael, there's quite a few whiners here that need to be outweighed (no offence anyone)

Doctor Who is a sci-fi program in long-standing made by the BBC. The Doctor is the show's main character, and Ishmael's avatar is actor David Tennant in that role.
The more you know.

Awww, don't kick yourself about it, Greentea - that's what God created NTs to do  You don't want to make them feel useless, do you?

Tons of us have this kind of occasional mind blindness. You're not alone. I couldn't hold down a job before I became disabled, and I've never been able to hold on to a relationship either. Many of us know intimately what you're going through.

If you read sinsboldly's post on the original thread, it seems she felt the thread would create strife among those who responded, possibly leading to a lot of regrettably nasty posts among members. That's my reading of it, anyway.

I find you are a conscientious poster that usually has a well thought out ideas and feel strongly about those ideas.

OK, ALEX, and some others here, seem to think I hate EVERYONE!! !! !! !

Ishmael,

I am sure you are no exception! YOU probably think I hate everyone also! I HATE that idea! As I recall though... I generally like you! And WHO CARES if you are rude, blunt, etc...????

NocturnalQuilter,

I think it is a sick inside joke. "The doctor" almost ALWAYS calls himself "The doctor"! Every now and then people ask "doctor WHO?"! So it isn't really his name at all. In fact, some shows make it seem like he would lose if his enemies found out, and a couple indicate someone knew his name, and it engendered trust.

I don't mind you. When I first got on the net and joined groups (not this one) I used to come across as much more abrasive than I am in real life, I'm not sure why, I think it's that I write real quick and just post rather than think about it and 'preview' for content.
