Ha, ha! Once when I dropped out of grade 12 my dad said "I hate to compare but look at Julie." Julie as almost done her second year of college. Now she's thinking of dropping out of university (her second year, and she flunked the final exam thing I think), and I'm thinking of going back and finishing my one final optional credit for high school, and so I bet he'll soon eat his words! My mom understood; she knew a lot of people were trying to find what they wanted to do in life and she said that I wasn't the only one; look at Julie. :P :) I think my father just wanted to blow off some anger at me and needed an excuse, and used the "I hate to say it" to justify his excuse... he's that kind of person. (He likes putting people down to get a rise himself. Some of his attempts [on me and my mother] were so pathetically obvious I think he was suffering from depression; why else the desperation? Never took antidepressants, used alcohol as an antidepressant, made him worse... the only thing keeping him sane is his plans for the future and his job which he likes, chatting with his buddies as he does physicaly-demanding work that keeps him fit. He's that proud kind of person besides... ugh!)

Comparing me to humans is typically a meaningless exercise; I'm inherently incomparable, and anyone who knows me more than just a little understands this.

While most skitter forwards and back like a rabbit, I creep sideways like a crab. Rabbits to crabs; a meaningless comparison, no?

This is why my tertiary spirit animal is a coconut crab. No human in this world can make such a claim.

Good fortune,

- Icarus is chitinous...

I totally know what you mean! Whenever people put me down and think they're better I should tell them that; I didn't know how to explain it but now I know! :D Again, the different as opposed to inferior thing... and then as a result of people thinking that, we BECOME inferior, because we're so depressed we can't function any more!
