I simply keep a list of those I would prefer not to participate with and avoid the threads started by them and never engage them in conversation.

If someone's causing enough stress to make you think about leaving, talk to a mod or admin. If you leave, they win.

I felt the same way about a couple of members here, but came to the same conclusion as NocturnalQuilter. I simply ignore them and pass over their posts if they happen to respond in a thread I'm interested in. It makes more sense to ignore obnoxious people on the internet than it does to leave an otherwise enjoyable site because of them. Why should I punish myself because someone else is rude?

Just my humble opinion.
