No. I don't believe so. I saw him on "Who do you think you are?" and he didn't seem as if he did. Just a typical actor. Not actually very interesting, to be honest.

This what I mean by autism being over diagnosed
How can the fictional charactor be fictionally over diagnosed if he is never labeled as Aspie/autistic?

The actor is not.
The character is just a caricature. Required to behave in very strict, cliche parameters for the structure of the show format. They built on things as they went along. Early on, he had no OCD tendencies until they figured it would be funny to have him knock three times. then they added more.

He's just some guy who plays an Aspergian-type character.
With regard to the allegation of Apergers and OCD, the writers of the Big Bang theory specifically state "Sheldon's character was neither conceived nor developed with regard to any of these traits" His character was created as a stereotypical "geek" with an IQ of 187...
I hate that show, not so much because of Sheldon, but just because the humor in general is too obvious for me. But sometimes I can't find the remote and end up watching it against my will.
Pay attention to Johnny Galecki's character. HE seems more like a real aspie to me. I've gone as far as to see if Galecki is autistic in real life, but I can't tell either way. I watch The Talk with Galecki's ex, Sarah Gilbert, on it. I'm pretty sure that she's on the spectrum, although I don't believe she's ever said that she is.
