Hi, newbie here, not sure if i have Asperger's or something else, though i'm pretty much guessing from the symptoms that i do something...

I have these symptoms, or have had these symptoms in the past...

I keep repeating a number over and over in my mind, but only when i'm tired. It's not a problem and i can easily stop.

I have this dream (or nightmare) where I keep repeating a certain set of numbers over and over again (I can't remember which ones so i haven't put them on the lottery yet, lol). This dream goes around in a constant loop and it never stops until i wake up. It's scary as I want to break out of it!

Anxiety

Low self esteem

Depression

Panic Attacks

Not speaking very much (very quiet)

Hyperactive (this might be an addiction i have to caffeine though)

I sometimes can't multi-task (like working and talking at the same time)

Bad posture when standing, i will lean against a wall and put pressure on either the left or right foot. When sitting down, i will lean back on the chair while on two feet or slump down on the seat. I appear normal when walking I think. I walk on my heals rather than on my toes (i think that's normal).

In the past i've made very little eye contact with people.

I do have a social phobia. I generally feel like i don't fit in when I'm with a group. I lack conversation, especially with strangers.

I usually do the same thing everyday, go to the same shops. I have two hobbies, one being computers. The other is collecting.

I have heard about people that think using pictures. When i think of an orange, i see a picture of an orange rather than the letters. I'm not sure if that is normal or not?

I observe social situation more than I interact with them. I try to work things out, like, what is her body language saying.

I often get distracted or bored while listening to a conversation, although i try to make sure they think i'm listening.

My morals are very strict and i'm very law abiding. I rarely lie.

I have difficulty remembering names and phone numbers.

I may have Dyscalculia, I couldn't tell the time right up to the age of 16. My mathematical skills are very poor (including adding and subtracting).

I don't smile as often as I should.

I sometimes stutter but 'only' when extremely nervous or very tired

I think I have face blindness.

I have problems remembering the days of the months in order, and problems remembering what day it is (much improved of late).

When i read something I start day dreaming about something else. The strange thing is, i'm still reading it while day dreaming but it isn't sinking in.

Sometimes, when i'm at home, I'll walk past something while i'm day dreaming and certain sentences will come into mind. I stop and look around and the exact words are on something like a milk carton. I didn't even remember looking at the milk carton even though i obviously did for a couple of seconds.

I often notice little things. When i'm in a car and I see a tree, i'll focus on it's shape and how nice it. I often read road signs and other signs even though i'm not driving.

When i was about 18, i knew almost all the game developers/publishers of a particular console game.

I did an IQ test once and it came back with an IQ of 109, though it had a few mathematical questions which i'm not really good at.

You've certainly got a lot of AS traits in there. I'm not sure about ADD. Maybe the lack of concentration.

No one can say for sure if you've got it or not without a clinical test.
If it's causing you grief then go for a diagnosis.

I get that too. I get them when I try to have a conversation with someone.

Its possible to have both, I have ADHD (innattentive which I guess is ADD) and I am also under the spectrum. In fact many times it goes hand in hand with one another.

I can relate to much of what you have posted. I have been dx'd as ADD, Social Phobia, Panic Disorder and probably could add OCD. I believe I could be dxd with mild to moderate Aspergers, but I don't know at this point if it will aid me in any way or not. I do take some meds for the Panic Disorder and ADD.
I encourage you to seek some medical and pyschological help from KNOWlegable professionals. I can't tell you what a relief it is to talk over these issues and feel like you might be able to learn coping mechanisms for some that are listed. And remember you are SO not alone.

Yeah, you sound like someone with Asperger's Syndrome- social phobia is common in that spectrum.

From what is said in the original post - it is impossible to make any conclusion.

for example, there are a lot of reasons for social phobia, ... It may be just being too self-conscious, but it may be because of scitsophrenia too...

From what I get Uranum is quite normal (NT) but self-centered person. All the traits listed above are quite natural for any person. The depression and axiety can be probably explained by the age of the author. I assume she is about 17 or 19.

One thing I cannot understand: how a person with IQ =109 could write a post like that?

Lots of ADD people self-medicate with caffeine. Then again, it's hard to tell because caffeine use is so very common.

Yeah... may be I am wrong... And 109 is just an average. I thought that the average was around 70...

70 is the breaking point between "normality" and "mental retardation".

THE average person's IQ is EXACTLY 100, or 100/100 or 1 or 100% ... it IS the average for one's chronological age.

70 is the breaking point between "normality" and "mental retardation".

70 also happens to be the percentage of Autistics who are classed (clinically) as suffering mental retardation.

Ok, ok, I got it. I thought 109 was something extremely high, because I did that test really a while ago and the scale was different. Now I see.

Thank you. I'm already seeking medical and psychological help. My CPN suggested that it 'might' be AS so i thought i'd get a second opinion here, hope you don't mind...

If i didn't know you better, i'd say you were looking for a reply. I've dedicated most of my life freely to charity work, I'd hardly call that self-centered!  I'm 30-ish actually, my depression started from the age of 16.
