They only other person I have asked in the past that has this same thing was probrably an Aspie, so I was wondering if this is shared by others AS, other ND or NT (please state in replies which you are)

when I close my eyes and try hard enough I see small rectangular neon light type spots. They are red and blue and are evenly spaced out over a dark spacelike (with no stars etc background). They start of small and dull and move evenly getting bigger and brighter as the appear to go overhead. I am easily distracted from this and it can be hard to get it back.

Normally to do this I have to be relaxed, lying down with eyes closed. but I have once done it with eyes open. the only other person that has said said they get this but red and green lights has AS traits.

I am an Aspie

I see "orbs" that are associated with migraine headaches, but I don't get headaches, I just see the orbs. They do look neon, but I see them with my eyes open. It is like someone painted "strips" of light across my vision. They are there when I close my eyes but not as obvious.

I don't have these all the time, though. They will just "hit" me and I won't be able to see anything out of that eye for a while.

When I close my eyes now, sometimes I see a neon-green glow. I used to see what looked like green fireworks when I closed my eyes as a child.

I am not sure if I am an Aspie or not. My therapist mentioned both ADD and AS and I am not sure what applies to me.

That happens to me too. I'm pretty sure it happens to everyone though. I don't know for sure, however.

If i look anywhere i can see something similiar to this, i think it is probably some quality of sight everyone has but is always present so everyone gets used to it, probably has something to do with the way the brain works sight.

NT/NA with ADD diagnosis here, who sees "Smurfberries," as I started calling them as a child - small, round, often flashing (for lack of a better term) red things, often superimposed on patches of green "smurfberry bushes." I'm most likely to see them with my eyes closed or in low lighting. They usually don't distract me, since I tend to only notice them when tired or disengaged anyway. When I am focused on something I'm probably tuning them out or in too good lighting to see them. I can also see clear but bright "raindrops" or "bacteria" in bright light when my eyes are strained, and a sort of general graininess or what looks like seeing the flowing air. I can get the flowing air effect looking at my plain white wall.

If only Aspies have reported the phenomenon to you in the past, it's probably because most NT/NA people do not tune into such little things very easily, or would just not come up with it as a random topic of conversation.

I see moving red/blue circles and squares sometimes when I close my eyes. Once I saw some weird arc moving from the center outwards in broaad daylight and open eyes.

I think I'm AS.

Yeah, when i ask an NT to describe the edge of some object they see in the distance, they always tell me what it is, not what they see, and get frustrated when i ask them to try to figure out what they are SEEING, not what it is.

I used to see faded spots of red, green, blue, brown, and yellow. But now I mostly see nothing. It must have something to do with visual imagination, most of my brain power goes to thinking when I close my eyes.

when I hold up a high powered red flashing light to my eyes for a a few minutes, the light starts turning yellow and green.

Isn't the patterns you see when your eyes are closed just visual noise?

With no light falling on the retina, you start to "see" the background noise.

That's my theory anyway!
