In a little under a month I'm going to be tested for AS.
My psychologist still thinks I have anxiety, but agreed to do the test.
So, what is exactly is the test like?
She said I don't have to do an IQ test because I've already done one recently.
She wants some background information but I don't really remember much about my childhood.

From what I can tell from other people's stories on here, the test and diagnostic proceedures vary from individual to individual with some being more drawn out then others.

I had an ADOS, a DISCO (my mum and my psychiatrist) and several semi-structured interviews with my psychotherapist.

I found the proceedure quite casual and undemanding of me. The people tended not to ask direct questions in case of social desirability, researcher bias etc.

My testing was a little different, they examined me without me knowing and then examined me in school (this I knew), of course, questions were involved.

I had several interviews with my doctor, an MMPI (Minnesota Multi-phasic Personality Inventory), a standardized IQ test and several smaller questionaires much like those you would find on-line. Since this is a syndrom and a spectrum at that, there is no "test"- but a series of tests and interviews which can lead to a conclusion.

A DISCO sounds pretty good. Ugh, but my mum has a tendency for embarrassing me when ever she talks to doctors or psychologists about me.

My mum is a little like that. I insisted she discuss it with me prior- not to bias the results but just to assure me of what she was intending to say and to clear up any misunderstandings.
