I know a couple of Aspies whose left eyes are slightly turned in/out. My left eye is microscopically turned inwards (it's called something like microtropia, according to the opticians at the hospital).

I was just wondering how many people's left eyes are at an abnormal position, (even microscopically but this must have been formally diagnosed.

Umm. No idea how I would be able to tell, but I think everything is A-OK as far as "positioning" is concerned. Autie/Aspie.

My left eye does not appear to be oddly positioned, but it is as nearsighted to the point of non-functioning. I can't focus 3 inches from my face with my left eye. My right eye is perfect.

So.... I don't know how to answer your poll.

That's interesting. I may start another poll if others report similar things.

Thanks for your input :)

I think that I have more a case of a dramatically different expression on left-and-right sides. Like my left brain and right brain are thinking different things.

I'm one of those people where you can mirror-image left and right sides into two apparently different people's pictures.

Edited to add: have different vision in left and right eyes, too, with astigmatism.

Similar to Acacia, my left eye is barely functional. My right eye works just fine, no glasses or contacts. My eyes are also noticeably different in colour. Until reading the original post of this thread, it never occurred to me that my left wyw might be out of position, so I have abstained from voting just yet.

I never thought there would be a connection but I have an odd left eye. Weird thing is I seem to have control over it, but if I start to daydream it goes back to being odd. So yeah it seems that its natural position is out of place but I am able to move it so that I can see normally.

My eyes are positioned ok.

However, my left eye sees color VERY well, and my right eye sees depth VERY well, but alone they have 20/30 vision due to various factors such as inability to deal with glare, etc. But measured together they see 20/15 - 20/10. It seems that the major differences in rod/cone distribution between my eyes allows me to see through glare better than otherwise (I have dialated pupils, so glare is a fairly severe issue).

My left eye is turned outwards a little more than my right eye...or there seems to be some level of asymmetry, and it is from my left eye.

I also have a severe astigmatism in that eye, which stinks because it is my dominant eye...according to eye-dominance tests..

I don't know about eye position, but my left eye has astigmatism.

Hmm interesting ...

Whatever it's called, I have a "squint" in my left eye, which I have control over, but only when conscious of the fact that it's causing double vision.

same for me. and the two sides of my brain and body also feel distinctly different. I mean it. sometimes they feel comletely disconnected. My left side is very weak wth poor balance (and that includes a weak left eye too and the light sensitivity ios worse from my left eye.) My right side feels stronger and when i was young felt almost invincible.

INTERESTING! I had a "droopy eyelid", on the left side. Kids teased me SO much, that I actually had it raised. You HAVE to wonder though. You sometimes think the two sides are mirror images, but they aren't. The left lung is usually smaller, there are usually more viens in the left groin area, etc....

I have mild palsia of my trochlear nerve (IV) on my right eye... so it kind of rolls in a funny direction (compared to my other) when I look certain directions.

I do have an odd left eye, but it has not been formally diagnosed, so I guess it doesn't count for your poll.
