I am currently reading a book about Asperger's by Tony Attwood and it says twitches in the neck, face and shoulders are because of Tourettes and its known to occur in Aspies.

I have twitches in all of those areas!

Do I have minor Tourettes?

Tourette's in order to be diagnosed must have at least two physical tics and a vocal tic and it must be for at least six months.

Many people develop tics of some sort or other. Some may even "grow out" of those particular motions. Tourette's is completely involuntary (as opposed to stims) and occurs even if the sufferer wishes not to engage in the motion/verbalisation.

Yes, many people with Asperger's also have Tourette's, OCD, ADD, or ADHD.

However, you must be diagnosed by a physician. I would talk to your doctor about the possibility.

Interesting topic.

Yep I twitch my shoulders, my shoulders and my face (which is annoying coz people thing I'm sending them facial signals!).

I dont think there's much point getting a diagnosis though.

Unless you also have vocal tics, you don't have Tourette's.

Okay, then if your vocal and motor tics occurred many times a day for over a year (you have to have both types at the same time), you may have Tourette's.

But unless you want meds, there may be no point in getting a diagnosis.

Yeah probably did happen a lot when I was younger.

No point trying to get meds, it aint that bad. Just curious I suppose.
