I learned to swim at age 14, and still feel anxious about water, and takes me while to get over the anxiety when I decide to go to the swimmingpool. I believe my father pushed me in the sea water when I was little and unconciuosly I am still apprehensive of water. nevertheless, once in the swimmingpool, the water soothes and clams me.

How do you feel about swimming and water???

I like sticking my head underwater. The noises are more blunted and tend the meld into each-other more for me. Not keen on the sensation of running water though.

I love to swim, and I love water.
I just wish I had a pool. Summer time sucks without a pool.
XD I can't stand swimming in the river, though.

I have aquaphobia. I am scared of deep, gloomy, dark water and waves.

I hate closed reservoirs- bath tubs, swimming pools, small lakes, jaccuzis etc

I love swimming in the sea or ocean though and can do so for hours, it's very soothing, espeically at night.

I enjoy the water. It desensitizes my skin.

Believe or know? Seems a bit much to assign blame if you aren't sure.

Pretty sure I took swim lessons before I could walk. I was doing competitive swimming by the time I was 5. So yeah, never had a problem with water.

Before I was school age I was scared of the waves at the beach. I can remember my father walking me carefully into the surf until I grew accustomed to it. Then, as I matured into a teenager, I used to love to ride the waves on a raft---even though the waves still scared me.

I learned to swim around the time I was nine or ten. I took swimming lessons at the local pool to learn. As a child, I loved to swim underwater---but now I don't like going underwater. I have a swimming pool in the backyard which is mainly used by my two sons.

I love water. Well, I love baths and swimming pools - I don't like showers, because I don't like not knowing when the water is going to hit me! The element of the unexpected is uncomfortable to me.

I took a long time to learn to swim as a child - I was very frightened of swimming. But once I learnt, I loved it. I can only do breast stroke, though, because the movements on both sides of the body are the same. I can never coordinate myself to do front crawl in an elegant manner. Bilateral coordination is not a strong point of mine.

I have this problem too which is why I start the shower from outside the stall then step in once it has started.

Huh I always thought that was the proper way... but now that I actually think about it you couldnt pay me to stand inside the shower and turn it on... you never know what temp its going to be or when it'll actually hit. Sometimes the simplest things are the most interesting when your attention is drawn to it.

I loved to swim as a kid. I learned how when I was 10. But now I find swimming pools boring. I prefer water parks. The swimming pools at resorts are usually nice. The ones in Las Vegas at hotels are real nice but they are expensive to stay at. The place we stayed at in Mazatlan, their swimming pool was nice. They had fake caves and cliffs. The one we stayed at in Cancun, their pool was also nice.

I love to swim. It takes no effort for me to keep my head above water when it is calm. I don't have great speed, but I can swim in the sea for miles. I do get waterlogged and thirsty after a few hours and need to dry out for a while. Being in water seems almost as natural for me as being on land.

I love swimming. I used t teach swimming at the YMCA when I was younger. But I can't take crowded pools or beaches, so I don't get to swim often anymore.

Well, I can't remember who of the family told me about my dad. But it is true. I can still swim in the sea, but if I cannot see what is underneath or the slightes thought of a shark, or a tiny school of fish pecking at my skin like it happened in Goa and in Thailand, I freak out and go straight to the shore.
