Does anyone else like to sit in a wardrobe / closet?
How about having weight of cushions on you or body weight.
I’ve often had the urge to lie under a mattress, but my bed at home has wooden slats under the mattress so not too accessible way of doing it.

What other ways of using pressure do other people have or ways that you have heard of other people using?

I used to sit in my cupboard sometimes. I can't any more because it was a fitted cupboard, and I moved house. It was just the right height to sit up underneath the lowest shelf, and nice and dark.

My sister had a really big closet, where I used to spend a great deal of time as a kid. And I have relished the comfort of sleeping under the weight of a mattress before. I am trying to remember the circumstance...I think I was unusually stressed at the time.

There are times when I just want to sit in a dark room. Sometimes I'll put Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon, Suzanne Ciani, or Kitaro on the CD player and just enjoy the sound. That is very relaxing.

As for closets, sometimes I used to hide in a closet when I was growing up, mainly to get away from my parents mandating I swim when my sister did, but it never worked.

Yes. I tried living in my closet when I was a kid. I succeeded for about 6 months.

So I make some things up about hearing voices or sleeping with a wet blanket, and no one says they do either of those things; and now someone says they try to live in a closet, and people chime in with the me toos!

These odd things that so many other people me too to are a reason why I doubt my diagnosis sometimes.

I used to scrunch into a corner of my unlit closet and cover myself with the (copious :) ) clothes and shoes lying around on the floor when I got very stressed. Felt good, the weight and the not being visible. No built-in closets here in the Netherlands, however. Sigh.

It's hard living in a house with other people (which I've been doing for the past 15+ years). I'd love a "room of my own", but not likely to get it anytime soon. Kids'll be grown in, oh, another 15 years or so....

Come to the UK; the rest of the world is! They're now building houses closet sized. If you've a spare £300k you could get your very own in a not-so-salubrious part of London. £100K should get you a snug little corner out of town.

Of course, you could just hitch a lift in the back of a convenient lorry, claim asylum, and get your very own government-funded closet.

I just assume you're joking whenever you make one of your threads, 'cause that's been the case in the past.

I've never felt extreme pleasure by pressure anywhere but around my head. But really nowhere else on my body.

I've always enjoyed small darker spaces though. I get nervous around really open spaces in either rooms or out in the open. The more "stuff" the more relaxed I feel, especially the darker the "stuff".
