as you go to 1,000 posts, the 'birds' and such get more 'noble'. Finally, when you get to 1,000, you get to pick your designation (such as 'bless his heart'...;)

They are in relation to your posts. The more you post, the more you become comfortable in using this site and commenting. Therefore going alongside those statuses. A new person may be shy. Also may be shy about commenting and therefore need to "get out of the shell" etc. Not really a game. I think it's ingenious really when you sit down and think about it

I mean, when I first got here, I was basically like "WTF is an emu egg or a tufted titmouse"? Why not just say "uber-shy", "repressed", "introverted", "blossoming", "outgoing", "extroverted" if that's what's meant?

Apparently the guy who put all of that in had "flying things" as his special interest at the time. :D

Some new members aren't that shy. That'd be way too blunt.

Yup. And I'm the furthest thing from an extrovert despite my 2k posts.

Come on... it's nothing to get worked up about. Birds aren't exactly insulting.

What catches me most about this thread though is, "It's not even a mammal???! !!". That's discrimination. (Fun fact: It's not racism, but rather it's classism, which is 4 ranks above race in taxonomy)

Personally I think it's original. Some forums bestow the title of "Robot Overlord" on certain members, some that of "Admiral of the Fleet" and this one the title of "Phoenix".

It doesn't mean anything, it has no purpose other than to identify those with higher post amounts, which could possibly indicate they are more experienced than other members.

Either that, or just motormouths!

Hey, we're Aspies. Monologuing is our business.

Classism... *snicker*

The term "tufted titmouse" sounds vaguely insulting when you have no idea that its a bird of some sort.
