I'm sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't find a thread. Anyway, I'm looking to get an official diagnosis for AS, and I was wondering if anyone knows of any sort of resource that will help me find someone in my area qualified to diagnose. I was thinking along the lines of a website where I could find the closest person to where I live. Otherwise, if anyone knows someone in Northern California, that would help too.

Tiffany made most of the phone calls for me, but I remember her saying she had to make a lot of phone calls to find someone when we were in Portland in 2007. There was a lot of google-searching for "autism portland" and the like and a lot of web sites. And she says several of the people she contacted emailed her back and said "how did you get my email address?" because they didn't think it was listed anywhere. She says she'd emailed about 100 people from the web searching she did.

There are a couple of organizations that might be able to help. I might start with GRASP. http://www.grasp.org

Search for the Amen clinc in Fairfield. Ask for Doctor Goldman and you can't go wrong. He's also on the spectrum so is very easy to talk with.
