Stim: repetitive sensory stimulation. Usually people think of motor stims like hand flapping or rocking, but they can even be listening to music or watching the same show over and over. The main thing is everyone on earth stims. Autties just tend to need more of it. Think of stimulation as anything which sensorily stimulates your brain (which is just about everything). "Stimming" (which is taken from the word "stimulation" of course) is more of stimulating repetitively or repeatedly.
As for poor spatial awareness and concept of time: that can often be seen in AS or other disorders like LDs or Tourette's or ADHD/ADD. Any of those ABC (Attention Behavioral Continuum) Disorders. Here's a list of them:
* Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
* Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
* Learning Disability (LD)
* Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
* Tourette's Syndrome
* Pervasive Developmental Delay (PDD)
* Asperger's Syndrome
* Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD)
* Apraxia and Apraxia of Speech
* Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD)
* Autism
And, of course, this list didn't include more specifically Nonverbal Learning Disorder which has a lot of spatial problems. It's my understanding that about 40% of Aspies also have Nonverbal Learning Disorder.
With spatial and time awareness problems, you're certainly not alone on this website.
