Ihave found that when I feel awkward in a situation, I will force myself to laugh, it makes me feel more comfortable in these situations. Anyone else have something they do in awkward situations?

Yes, I do this quite a lot. Sometimes I do it to cover up embarrassment.

I don't think I do this - I'd need to observe myself more. However, I tend to adapt specific verbal traits related to a single person I hang out with the most. Such as their laugh. When I was living with my dad for a couple of years, I found I was laughing like him. When I was living with a friend for about a year, I started laughing like him too! I'm currently not hanging out with many people, and I have my own laugh now.

For some reason, laughing doesn't feel quite right about 95% of the time. Just feels fake to me. Started a conscious effort to laugh more a while ago, and now I can laugh at just about anything. It's wierd. I still don't like to laugh at things that aren't funny though...

Laughter is the one emotional response that comes somewhat naturally to me, albeit at the wrong time, now and then. It isn't easy to fake it, however.

I laugh almost all the time. It doesn't matter if it is awkward, sad, happy, cold, warm, smelly, funny, cheezy, groggy, quiet, or loud. Whether I should be laughing or not-I usually do...

I go really quiet so its kinda obvious wen i am feeling awkward coz i am normally a loud and lively person i normally cover it up by saying I am just thinking about something lol.

but my closest best friends know wen i feel awkward and tend to change the subject or fill me in on info so i dont feel so awkward.
