I don't know if this counts as echolalia (which I have mildly) but I will often say something or hear something and then repeat it in my head over and over. I don't know why this is and I don't make a concious effort to do it, it just sort of happens. I also repeat stuff out loud but that's usually only once but i'm more interested if anyone does it in their head as well.

I used to do this all the time. If having a "conversation" with someone, the last thing I said would echo over and over in my head.

It stopped recently, though. Not sure why.

I do it off and on. seems like once in a while old words feel new and I have to repeat them silently a few dozen times, or whisper them, or a combination of silent and whispered repetition. I also do it when I'm following assembly instructions. I'm not sure if the word I latch onto is relevant to actually building whatever I'm working on. I think I usually get captured by a word because of it's shape or texture and I have to play with it.

I used to repeat the word, Dentabone in my head, all the time when I was a bit younger.

Yes. That's why I get all confused when people talk too fast. It creates a mishmash of echoes in my head.

Yes, it's definitely worse during times of stress.

I find I also have a particular "musical echolalia", where many many many times a day people say words or phrases which cause song lyrics to not only come into my head but also out of my mouth. I guess I never realized that it was unusual to just blurt out song lyrics off and on throughout the day.

I do this time. Also, I do the regular kind where you repeat words for no reason.
I do that musical one too.

yeesssss! I do this all the time. I also count syllables all the time too. Well, not really count as much as I'll trace geometric shapes with the number of syllables in the word. Ex. if the word is autism, in my head I'll trace a triangle over and over again, repeating each syllable in the word au-ti-sm, for every line in the triangle.
