I have had this odd feeling I would die in my early 20s for the past 5 years, and I can't explain why I've had the feeling, I just have. But the strange thing is it actually feels true.

LOL--you're not alone.

When I was in my teens, I never thought I'd live to see 20.

When I was in my 20's, I never thought I'd live to see 30.

When I was in my 30's, I never thought I'd live to see 40.

Now that I'm in my 40's, I don't think I'll live to see 50.

If I apply mathematical induction to this logic, I should thus live forever! :D

Seriously, though, just concentrate 90% on today, and maybe 10% on tomorrow. We all gotta go sometime, but it isn't worth worrying about exactly when it will happen. Eat, drink and be merry!

One of the problems I had when I was depressed, was that kind of "what if" thinking. Like if you let yourself worry about all the things that could happen, you'll miss out on life. However, I did learn something interesting in regards to this on Manswers last night. If you are going to get hit by a car, try to tuck your head down and jump into the windshield. It's not made out of pure glass, it's made out of layers of plastic and glass so if you hit that there will be the least likely chance you'd be seriously hurt.

It has nothing to do with depression, as I often have the feeling in perfectly normal happy moments.

I always assumed I'd die before my 30th birthday. I simply accepted it as an inevitability. Now I'm 40 and still waiting for the bomb to drop. I do plan on euthanizing myself if I make it to 50. In my opinion, everything after 30 is simply re-runs anway.
