An extremely well-meaning, close friend is trying to get us interested in HANDLE, and I was wondering if anyone had heard about it. Can't find it in the search engine so I'm asking all of you.

It seems to be based on the belief that through very specific game playing people with developmental issues can make serious progress. The program was designed by an autistic woman, but she insists it has applications for people who suffer brain damage as well, among other things.

so, has anyone heard of this?

Handle is the term normally meaning your're nickname, call-sign or log-in name nowadays.

Ok...for the record, here's the website: www.handle.org

what the website says: The HANDLE Institute provides an effective, non-drug alternative for identifying and treating most neurodevelopmental disorders across the lifespan including Autism, ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia and Tourette's Syndrome. HANDLE incorporates research and techniques from many disciplines. It includes principles and perspectives from medicine, rehabilitation, psychology, education and nutrition. It is founded on an interactive, developmental model of human functioning. The HANDLE Institute International, LLC offers clinical services, community information, and professional training programs.

I found this website on the first try:

> Link to Handle Explanation <

And this one on the second:

> Link to Role-Play Scenarios PDF <

It's just another training tool.

Judith Bluestone developed it. I started reading one of her books at work the other day. I know nothing else about HANDLE
