Do you think Im autistic if so to what extent?
Do you think I'm autistic if so to what extent?
when I was tested for it when I was younger, I was told I have autitic traits, but not autistism.
When I was little I would throw fits and I put my head through a wall at one point in time. You could argue are meltdowns, and combination of realizing I could throw fits for hours longer then my parents could put up with.
I ironically don't suffer from melt downs really any more and actually have better self restrain then most people.
I didn't like being touched my mom.
When I'm in private and I get excited I flap my hands.
When I was little I would form obsessions with objects, ideas, concepts and object parts. I still do to an extent.
For example when I was younger I had an obsession with animals and at 5 turned vegetarian, when I was one I had an obsession with vaccum cleaners, then an obsession with political philosophy and economics that started when about 17 and more.
Im not inflexible and don't mind routine changes.
I'm sensitive to light, but its only a problem generally less I'm driving when the sun is rising or falling, then it can sometimes be almost blinding.
When I was little I would only wear certain clothes, because of they felt
I'm sorta social awkward and it takes me a second or two to realize sarcasm isn't literal.
My thinking is very systematic and logical, and I can generally find the slightest logical fallacies.
I don't like small talk with random people
I get a lot of mental shutdowns where my mind blanks, I often have difficulty putting thoughts into complete sentences when it happens
When I watch videos I often hear about every other word being said I need to watch it about 1-5 times, depending on how much I'm into the video and if I'm in a shut down.
I have dyslexia
I have a very high spatial reasoning and think more in pure concepts and images

Thanks for the reply yeah I'm aware people can't diagnose me here I'm just look for people's thoughts on it.
Also there are few other important things I left out.
In public school I had a few learning disabilities with written language and special needs teachers and assistants were shocked at the diagnoses of me not being autistic, because they could have sworn I was some where on the spectrum.
They ended up unofficially giving me autistic like special prolivieges that my IEP wouldn't have allowed. For example in middle school they would allow me to crawl under my desk to read where it was darker.
I also uses to do a lot of body rocking and still do sometimes.
I really like human contact but don't require at all or not as much as other people.
I'm obsess about things sometimes
A few noises really irritate me, for example when I turn on my fan in my room the rapid increase in sound is not painful but extremely uncomfortable and stressful.
I noticed alittle less then half my friends are randomly on the autistic spectrum, there the ones I generally connect with most.
All the mental shutdowns make me feel sorta dysfunctional sometimes.

Yes, there is a difference.
PDD-NOS, back in the DSM IV days, was part of the Autistic Spectrum. It was kind of a catch-all diagnosis for people who didn't show "all the signs" of autism, but who evidently had some sort of "pervasive developmental disorder." You can actually have "severe" symptoms and have PDD-NOS.
If you within the Broad Autism Phenotype, you might or might not be on the Spectrum.
I seems like you could be on the Spectrum--but there's also a possibility, to me, that you're not.
