i think that most movies that NT's enjoy are stupid because theyre too unrealistic or its a comedy and all NT's think its hilarious but its actually really stupid....so i was wondering, are there movies that aspies would generally like? (based on our personality) and which movies do you like?

Well, I personally love childrens movies. Anything from pixar such as WALL-E and Monsters Inc. I don't like a lot of movies due to the unrealistic factor.

Everyone has a different taste in movies, AS or not. I, for one, hate gender biased movies, such as action films and chick flicks. I much prefer movies anyone can enjoy. And as buryuntime mentioned, I like children's films, too. 8)

I hear that dry humor is popular with aspies, at least it is for me.

So, probably any monty python movie. Especially monty python + search for the holy grail.

Try Pi.

I'm a sucker for anything advertised as a "psychological thriller."

The Worlds Fastest Indian with Tony Hopkins. If as an Aspie who can't appreciate this film then you are probably braindead.

Benny & Joon

A mentally ill woman falls in love with an eccentric guy. Some people believe he's aspie.

Four Minutes, the story of Roger Bannister, a man who was very successful in athletics and in life. It is an inspiration for anyone who has ever felt different, AS or not, and succeeded.

'The Life of Brian' is my all time fav.

I would recommend 'Falling Down' starring Michael Douglas. But try not to take it literally folks!

"Good Will Hunting" is a good one. I'm not positive that Will is an aspie, but several classmates have told me that I remind them of him. Either way, it's a good movie. :)

If we're going the drama-route, I would recommend "A Beautiful Mind."

I recently saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It seems people with Asperger's could probably relate with Benjamin quite well because of the fact that he was born very different from everyone else. It is a very long movie, though, but worth it to me.

-Star Wars IV-VI (1977-1983)

-Brazil (1985)

-Mad Max trilogy (1979-1985)

-Blade Runner (1982)

-Spinal Tap (1984)

-Wayne's World 1 & 2 (1992-1993)

And lately I've rediscovered my interest in Don Bluth films, like Secret of Nimh, Land Before Time, and All Dogs Go to Heaven.

Deep, Artistic, Intelligent, and/or truly funny movies. I can enjoy everything from Contact to Requiem for a Dream to Borat. Basically I can only watch movies if they feel like someone truly talented made it. I also like movies that are about one subject and go very very in depth with it, as one would expect. And amen to childrens movies. The well-made ones are awesome... like Pixar, early Walt Disney, or Rankin/Bass. I also love watching the same films I obsessively watched when I was a kid. For one thing, when I was young I would watch every movie I could about dinosaurs... then rewind them and watch them again.
