Lately I have been so fixed on my special interests like researching, reading, TV shows and collecting that I didn't notice that parts of my town are on fire, more and more people are being laid off from there jobs and the whole world is an economic crisis.
I feel like I was when I was child, but the only difference is that as an adult I should know about these kind of things.
Fortunately there are news sites to keep me updated.
I usually just have no idea what's happening in the news, both locally and internationally.
Anyone the same?
Generally I don't watch the news - its too depressing and its more about the shock and drama nowadays anyway. I usually stick with websites where I can pick and choose what I want to read about/watch.
Having said that, I have been more oblivious about my more immediate world lately, or at least work world, anyway. I think it is because I have been put in the middle of an untenable situation between two warring ego factions, with one side thinking I have power over the other side, and the other side knowing full well that I haven't got any leverage. Sadly, its all about fear of technology and change.

Its been keeping my mind consumed lately, and it shouldn't even be my problem, but, interests being what they are (and one of my interests is problem solving), I feel compelled to work on a solution. I have actually screamed 4 times in the last 2 weeks at work because someone has startled me while I was hyper-focussed - 3 times when someone came into the staff room and I didn't hear them, they just "appeared" out of nothingness, and once someone decided to grab me in the ribs

. I have had to concentrate on concentrating on what is going around me lately or everything else just disappears.
