What a nice idea, Frank. Thanks for posting. :D

Despite that I'm sure a fair few on WP don't agree with the war, we still need to support the troops for the sacrifice they're making. I wanted to make a bumper sticker that says "Support Our Troops, Not Bush" because nobody wants another Vietnam where the soldiers are blamed instead of the government.

Why should we thank the soldiers of any nation?

They are there to kill people ~ that's what they do.

When the people of the world mass together into large groups they become dangerous. They sink to the lowest common denominator and start killing each other.

It's essentially an NT thing.

When people start to see themselves as individuals whose opinions are not founded on those of a group the world will be a much happier and safer place.

Maybe AS has a role to play here in the evolution of a world that celebrates the detail instead of the gestalt.

A world that celebrates the acheivements of the individual and not the 'nation' or the 'poitical party' or the 'religion' or any other group of thugs.

It's political and media propoganda that convinces them it's the right thing to do. That it's honorable.

We should blame government and media for wars. Not the soldiers. They still think, despite whose orders they're under, that they're fighting for this country.

For that they should be thanked.
