Sunlight annoys me. I squint in it. It's usually in the summer.

Bright sunlight makes my eyes sting. On some days it is quite painful. Actually, today was very bad in that regard.

In the past I have often said to people "Gosh, the world is awfully bright today" & they have told me that they didn't notice it. It is only recently that I realised the connection with AS.

Summer sunlight affects me more than most as well. I always noticed when I would be out during the summer, I was the only person squinting. And I don't just squint, I squint to the point where my eyes are nearly closed, and I look funny doing it when no one else is even squinting. For a while I wore shades, but I always thought I looked funny in shades... like I was trying to look cool when I wasn't, so I stopped wearing them.

yes, but its not as instant as my reaction to noise (which is more notable and immediate).

i feel better in darkend rooms, and rooms with dark walls. bright, sunfilled rooms with white walls make me feel tired and stressed, the same reaction i have to being around people.

sensativity to sensory stimuli is part of aspergers. i have black out curtains, navy walls, and stay inside a lot. also- the outside world is evil anyway.

I'm never out of my sunglasses in summer. If my kids want to give me conniptions they shine a torch in my eyes.

I do hate camera flashes and office lights. I need bright sunlight to fight depression and when I step into the sun, I feel the depression lifting like a fog. I have a full spectrum light lamp that I use in the house.

There is a type of sunlight that I have a lot of trouble with and that is the light that filters through on a cloudy day. While other people's eyes are relieved, mine are squinting and watering with pain. I have to wear sunglasses on those days, even though it is cloudy. I don't know what type of light wave it is that bothers my eyes like that. If anyone has a clue, I would be grateful.

I wear sunglasses all the time, even on cloudy days. Bright light (esp. sunlight, but also the lighting in businesses (shops, for example) gives me headaches. It's called photophobia (sensitivity to light) - it's not a 'phobia' in the classic sense (fear), btw.

Fluorescent lights bother me a lot.
I feel distracted and a bit depressed if I am in a room lit by them for long periods of time.
Camera flashes can start to really mess with me if there are a lot of them.... sporting events, theme parks, graduations, etc.

Sunlight does not annoy me. I love sunlight. My problem is that sudden exposure causes me to sneeze vehemently. This response is due to mixed-up nerve signals in my brain, and is often referred to as "Photic Sneeze Reflex" or "ACHOO" (Autosomal dominant Compelling Helio-Ophthalmic Outburst) syndrome. I've posted about it on WP before....

Bright light (and flourescent light) can make my eyes tired, sting, and then a nervous tic happens where I can't stop blinking my eyes.

I'm not annoyed.

I just can't see.

Yes, sunlight coming in through the window is the worst, because it makes the room so unbalanced, it's like I can't function. I always close the curtains/blinds unless it's a cloudy day, when I was a kid my parents always got mad because I would have the lights on during the day. My dad said I was crazy.

Also, camera flashes are extrememly annoying. Just recently I was at the airport and a lot of people were taking pictures, and I had to keep finding different places to sit.

Glare and certain bright lights have always bothered me. E.g.; that bright pale gray and reflection everywhere on a cloudy day bothers me way more than a sunny day.

Sunglasses; indoors and out. Hats with brims for overlights.

Large areas with those large, whatever they are, tube light things are a little .. gah. how to explain, they make the pathway in the distance seem a little warpy looking and distorted. I have to focus on the things right around me of I start to get a little queasy. (figured it was just my vision and my glasses weren't quite right but it's always done that with any glasses.)

I squint in bright sunlight and when it reflects off the snow, but I thought that was just normal for anyone. (I squint more with my left eye than my right, my eye doctor said that it is "acceptable". It's like my left eye sees more brightly (everything has a light-bright blue tint vs, my right eye with a more dark yellow or tan tint.)

If I have a migraine though any light makes my head hurt worse, and movement... and my sense all just kind of go out of whack and I just lie there in the dark in pain :(, but that's when I have a headache...

Yes, especially the neon ones.

Only when turning on a light after I just woke up.
