Because we don't 'follow the herd' and thus can invent things, or solutions to problems that the 'followers' can't.
Example: Nikola Tesla (whom many think was ASpic) invented Alternating Current back when Edison was trying to convince everyone that the future depended on Direct Current.

That is an excellent answer. Not only do we not follow the herd, we don't even perceive them sometimes. We see the world without the same boundaries that the "NT" confine themselves to.

I'm a very opinionated and vocal Aspie supremacist, so naturally I agree 100%.

Yeah that's very true.

I agree with this, but with one key point. Every invention has been turned into a weapon of some kind. Einstein (also rumored to be an Aspie) discovered that a huge amount of energy is found with certain molecules. This could of powered most or today's energy needs, but instead, it was developed into a Bomb (by the people who it was originally "incapable to see the same way as we do.") and killed thousands.

The pattern of revolutionary discoveries made by Aspies (rumored or Confirmed) has only been followed by the use of said discoveries into weapontry. We could help the world, but also could inadvertantly bring much more harm.

This is, of course, an old argument. It's been said that even something as benign as the telephone has been used for evil purposes. We can't stop innovating because our discovery could be perverted. The human capacity for evil is unlimited.

Save the world from what?

I think it's pretty clear that the world's greatest enemy is humanity. Look what we've done to the planet in our short time here.

It also means that we could just as easily create an apocalypse... I think think of more ways to not only save the world, but also eliminate all human life, than any NT I have met. The door swings both ways, are you coming or going? But personally because I want to have minimal impact on the world, with the exception of leaving my legacy, I don't want to either save the world or end it. I definitly don't want to end it, as that would also end my legacy. Hitler and Christ were on opposite ends of the same scale, they were both very powerful and excellent leaders, on one was a nutcase who wanted to end half the world's lives, and the other clearly wanted to do just the opposite. The same is true with aspies, some of us choose to make things better while some choose to make things worse, although I will say most of us want to make things better.

This might sound really stupid, but what do you mean, 'Save the world'? I know there's a lot of bad things in the world, like poverty, but I don't think Autistics or anyone/anything will make a perfect world. A perfect world is a paradox anyway.
And it's not like the world being conquered or anything.
Sorry if it's obvious, I just don't know what you mean.
