i have a guilty ebay addiction. and since aspies are often collectors of weird stuff, i wondered what else other people collect.

i go for vintage clothes, books, fabrics, kitchenalia- 30s and 40s- fairly normal....

but there must be some cool collections being built up out there!!

i cant recall how to add pictures- but do show...

I'm getting into vintage and rare handcuffs.

AND the leather masks made by a particular Eastern European artist. This horse mask is incredible.

Do you like to wear vintage clothes? I do, but, for males, it's not all that different from classic styles of today.

For that, you'd need to use the BBCode image tags, such as:
"[img]TheAddressOfYourImage[/img]"

If I put the URL of my avatar between those two tags, it shows such:

I don't buy from Ebay. Good thing too otherwise I'd be buying this stuff:

Recently, I've really gotten into looking up pageant dresses. They're so beautiful! I'll post one here tomorrow (too lazy right now).

The artist only makes a few pieces every month. You have to check regularly, but I'm sure he'll do custom work too. Each one goes for around $300 incl. shipping from the Ukraine. Check out this one:

thanks for the picture advice- i worked it outmyself in the end.
yes- i mainly wear vinatage clothes. i realised ages ago its partly beacuse i like the feel of used things, and partly because the materials themselves feel nicer (as well as lots of other reasons).. old, clothbound hardbacks-
Image
like this feel lovely, far nicer than the plastic coating used on some glossy paper backs.
today i am wearing this c1950 dress-
Image
but i generally wear late 30s/early 40s (war obsession!)- this just arrived at the PO for me to collect. it has wooden buttons with carving. both were about £40 each, including shipping; bargain!
Image
this would be a dream purchase, but is rather beyond me- digital hasselblad.

I usually just buy videogames (and only when it's something I can't get at AtariAge)...certainly not an obsession, though.

It's harder for me to visualize the look of this one. But I guess one side crosses over the other, the same as a double-breasted jacket. I'd have to imagine what it looks like.

Do you generally go for just the subdued colors, or would you ever wear something like these:

And do you think these that I've posted are true 1930s styles? My apologies if they're not quite accurate representations. I'm not scholarly enough in this field to know, myself. That was a 1965 film adaptaion of a 1930s story.

No doubt. I so wish I could have gotten this. I never even could get the original 5D. I ended up getting a 30D, though, before I went broke.

I try to avoid ebay because I get addicted to the auctions and spend all my time checking to see if I'm in first and I have a hard time letting go of something if I get outbid so I can never stick to my initial max bid and I spend way too much money for things I don't really need. Though I did recently buy a large Lego set and a really pretty shirt from there, both at great prices.

I'm really addicted to amazon though.

I love ebay, lately I've been looking at old composition dolls. I have gotten into several different things, my little ponies, primitive dolls, art prints (I tend to like rather strange abnormal psychology type stuff) and I also love antiques from the victorian era, Nancy Drew books from the 50's, I guess alot of vintage/antique things.

I'm obsessed with collecting model cars, but after some bad experiences I've actually learned to stay from eBay unless it's an amateur, regular collector selling something. Mostly I order from the authorized advertisers on a model forum I frequent.
