Scared the bejeezus outa me. At first it seemed like an out of whack troll, like the ones on the pencils, with the Afros, but as I looked at it closer it really scared me. The only time I remember this happening in my lifetime was during some Time Life series TV advert on aliens/UFOs/etc... The alien face in that ad had the same properties and the same effect on me, to a T. In retrospect, I'm wondering if they were targeting a certain, select, most likely less than social demographic... Any one have similar experiences?

I actually saw that exact face somewhere else. It is a reconstruction of what one of the neanderthal(?) faces MIGHT have looked like.

Went to check it out. Very odd indeed. I wonder what the NT's think this is? The Face Of Autism? Looks like a pic of a feral child.

Could be a wild girl raised by wolves.

The dislike reaction is most common among NTs, and there are far more Aspies that claim it is "cute" or likable. This is exactly the intent of the picture as well. To evaluate if Aspies judge Neanderthals as more attractive. Of course, like the physical traits, the correlation is low, but it is there and it is stastically significant.

BTW, the picture is a real reconstruction based on a Neanderthal skull from Gibraltar. It is one of the best reconstructions I've ever seen. Most other look brutish or plain unnatural.

Interesting. I really wish I had that old Time Life alien pic, they had something significant in common. Something to do with the proportions, but I couldn't begin to figure out what it was w/o it...

Yeah, it was pretty freaky. I think I picked non-human on that one. Just what does that have to do with the results anyway?

She DOES kind of grow on you. Look at her till your eyes almost cross, and she does look kind of cute. Yeah, I think it is a girl also. The most unpleasant feature is probably the nose(I think the stare I mentioned kind of blends that in so it no longer stands out) And HEY, I tend to like small noses, what can I say. BUT:

1. They can't be sure that is what it looks like. A negro and caucasion(at least historically) have very different noses. Even many whites do.
2. The environment was probably different, and a lot of them looked like that.

There ARE a few things like the unkempt hair, and vacant stare that are BOUND to make it look worse.

I was very attracted to Moglee(from Jungle book) when I was a little girl....so,ferral,apeals to me.I dont really like carrot colored hair....dark reds,browns and black hair only.I think she looks to "monkey" mouthed to be attractive.....that is always how I felt about my own face and part of why I thought I was an alien.I like very gaunt faces and large thin noses,high cheek bones...I would say that is not very Neandrathal.I do like the full lips and eyes,though.Perhaps their is a genetic advantage in NOT being attracted to people who share as many AS traits....kind of water down the gene?Some research seems to indicate that two AS parents are more likely to have LFA off-spring(I think)?
