Medicare Recipients and THe Stimulus Package
Hmmm-
Well, if you are on Medicare beware.
There is going to be a health care specialist who will decide if it will cost effective to treat you.
In Eurpose they do this- there was a law that one had to go blind in one eye before having the other fixed. Tok 3 years to reverse the law.
Now -embedded in this new stimulus package- laws that will make it harder for the elderly and disabled to get care. It will have to be cost effective.
The Nazi's pulled this crap with the disabled and elderly.

I work as a Medicare claims fraud investigator. You would not believe what methods are perpetrated by medical 'professionals' to defraud the Medicare system. I don't see having a case manager as such a distasteful thing, as it keeps our members from being unwitting pawns to enrich greedy providers and open to unnecessary surgeries and procedures.
I will wait until I see what is in the new guidelines before I freak out.

I agree with you about how medicare is a SCAM! The place that I work at now has to do a LOT of garbage to allow scammers to get away with FRAUD, because medicare REQUIRES IT!! !! !! !! !! It is on the pretense that they must service all, including illegal aliens! Good old liberal double standards! So not only are people scamming medicare, but medicare INSISTS that companies FACILITATE scams against them. If they fail to do so, medicare may not pay them, and they may not be allowed to stay in business. MEANWHILE, the facilities get paid only a portion of their costs, and have to make it up elsewhere.(By charging non medicare patients MORE!)
Yeah, I know, SOME payments FAR exceed costs. That is part of the problem of having incompetent people look at SO many cases. What they REALLY need is stricter punishment(to lower the workload), and constant revising of their allowed treatments, and payments, by someone that KNOWS what they are doing(To reduce the ability or need to cheat medicare).
STILL, the idea of some IDIOT looking over possibly THOUSANDS of cases to determine if they are needed, etc.... and what should be paid? I had a case where I could have been dead if it were delayed a few MINUTES! Luckily, medicare wasn't involved, and my insurance covered it, but what if some agency had to second guess? I could be DEAD now!

??? I thought we had a conservative president for the last 8 years and a conservative senate and congress for at least 10 years (1996 to 2006).
I don't follow your arguement on this , 2unkenkerl.

I figure we'll just have to learn to help each other.
I have a local support group and I figure at the very least we can exchange services. There's a few with young kids who could probably use a baby sitter when their respite care arrangements fall through, for example. And I bet there's more than one that wouldn't mind learning how to garden or sew, both of which I know and can teach...

Even BUSH was not against the idea of illegal aliens. Heck, he COULD speak spanish, and spanish relatives, and was from texas! HE was also one of the ones expressing the garbage about "They do jobs Americans won't, WE NEED THEM!". It doesn't matter though, the US DEFINITELY supports illegal aliens, ESPECIALLY hispanics.
Still, there was no arguement. I was simply saying that medicare IS getting cheated, and some rules from medicare insist on that. Some prices are too high(so they are RIPE for fraud), and some are too low(so the medical industry hates it, and has to make money elsewhere)
Well, I can see why lots of people find ways to get Medicare to pay for treatments-Medicare usually doesn't even cover the cost of procedures. The payments are too low.
Add in that there were cutbacks in the Medicare system in maintaining compliance, yeah, lots of hospitals, docs, clinics, and other healthcare providers find ways to juice the system for extra cash.
I don't know if illegal aliens have access to Medicare-Medicaid maybe. Medicaid is even more vulnerable to scamming.
I've never had a problem with Medicare, and it's because I lucked out. I had a doc who kicked me out of his practice because he didn't accept Medicare when I became eligible, and I lucked out in getting referred to a clinic where I got an excellent doctor. My biggest problem is the very strange way the Part D (drug plan) works. If that isn't a damn scam by privatization, I don't know what is. I get less for for the money I pay than I did before Part D was passed. I have a premium (oh, yeah, Medicare isn't completely free, there are premiums for different plans), and then I have different copays. It is confusing, but I figured out they still make money off of me.
The trends I'm seeing are providers cutting back on taking Medicare patients, and hospitals trying to charge the difference between what they got from Medicare and what the cost was for the hospital, even though this is illegal.
It's a screwed up system, but it's because of the way it's organized. Not enough money for part of it, and not enough oversight for another part of it. Too many cooks in the kitchen, and too many special interests messing with it.
We'll see how MC fares in the future.
I am just y angry at having to be forced onto this. I had private insurance .I am young. Now half my life is taken away. I cannot even marry now and this was NOT MY CHOICE. I do not want Medicare.
The disabilty rights advocates are useslses. In 20 years they got ramps put everywhere. Good lord. My girlfriend is in a wheelchair and she does not need more ramps. She needs to be allowed to marry and buy her own health care and get out of this prision.
How have we been forced into this? This is communism.
Our country always needs a whipping boy populace. Now it is hte disabled. Everyone else has rights but us. Amazing wer can vote.

no, not Medicare because. . didn't you notice Autistic and Asperger's Syndrome ends at age 18!
however Montana has passed a bill for children under 18 to be covered by insurance in their Senate and Nevada is considering it.
